Preface
List of all landmarks in the game in a text form and mapped. Both achievements have been fixed and can be unlocked now.

Cartographer requires recording all isles.
Master Cartographer requires recording all landmarks on the four main isles: Pwyll, Hallowshire, Endless Realms, and Clockwork Kingdom.

Never had problems recording any landmarks, aside from the one that gets obscured by a teleportation notification, so i don't remember where i had the prompt appear for that one. This player got it on a cliff to the right of the main gate, try there?

I keep wandering around the 'Rotten Onions' area in Pwyll and nothing is cropping up saying that it's an interesting landmark for me to take note of. Does anyone know any fixes, or if I'm supposed to be in a very specific place?

Nevermind, apparently the Desert Island landmark is not required for Master Cartography but required for Cartography

Sorry, no idea. Both achievements were bugged at launch but it had been fixed soon after, and afaik shouldn't be an issue anymore. All i can suggest is to check the game's discord server, maybe devs can help you with this.

I got Master Cartographer but not Cartographer after looking at this for help. Is the achievement just bugged somehow or am I missing something?

You need to find a scholar's tent and speak to the academy scholar inside (there's one in the forest below Pwyll), they will give you tools needed to start recording landmarks. Certain 'major' landmarks, when recorded, also unlock the map little by little.
