描述
The Variable Geometry Configuration Testbed, internally codenamed 9P003, was developed entirely independently by Kebal Central Institute of Aerohydrodynamics, the largest aircraft manufacturer in South Kerbin. It was the first successful twin-engine heavy variable geometry vehicle on the planet. Its complex and sophisticated variable sweepback system draws all its technical expertise from the legendary 9P002A1 testbed and the Object 728 "Gemini".

The program faced several challenges back in the days it was initiated. One critical technical problem was that the wings wobble under large G forces was almost impossible to suppress. Through countless redesigns and test flights, genius engineer BunnyFenger UwU eventually figured out a way to get the leading edge of the wings to cut the airflow at an angle of almost 90 degrees to eliminate wobbling.

The prototype was built to study the feasibility and practicality of variable geometry technology on Kerbin. Studies have shown that this configuration is achievable, but impractical, because the aircraft can only withstand G forces when the wings are folded, at which the drag will be counterintuitively increased.

*This aircraft is equipped with the Maneuver Load Alleviation System (MLAS), but it's hidden by default. To enable it, just simply enable pitch control of the outboard ailerons.

Note: The MLAS has a speed limit of 260m/s when wings are not folded. When wings are folded, the actuators must be adjusted to -30 degrees or disabled, otherwise the warranty is void.

23/08/2024 update: The MLAS is now automatic, but if the pilot decides to use key 3 in any circumstances, they need to keep an eye on the wings. When a failure occurs, disable the system manually.

But the MLAS stands for Maneuver Load Alleviation System, this thing exists on many large aeroplanes. Basically, since deployed wing spoilers will add extra downward load to the wings, when the structure is taking an excessive lift, the spoilers will deploy at an angle to prevent the wings from snapping. This logic also generated the Gust Load Alleviation System, which is to immediately release the spoilers when the aeroplane is facing a super strong gust wind or turbulence.

Hahaha no, the MCAS is the Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System, which was designed to improve the flying quality of the Boeing 737 MAX since the new engines are bigger that their position of installation significantly changed the aerodynamics. The 737 MAX has more tendency of pitching up when flying, therefore, the MCAS system will automatically trim it down. However, since the system would engage when just 1 sensor detected high angle of attack, and the pilots weren't trained about it, the two planes crashed (their sensors had problems). Now the MCAS will only engage once under any circumstances, and can be overrided manually.

you said this has MLAS? As in MCAS? Is this from boeing? It is going to crash? (I know boeing planes are not as bad as the internet thinks. It's for the memes)

Check out the Very-Fun-to-Fly Package lol, I've added my signature planes in it, every one has its fun points.:steamhappy:

I'm trying to come up with a new idea for my next plane haha, but at the moment Idk what's the best option. Do you have any ideas

Usually you don't need to use 3 because 4 has been developed a complex law, which works better if the wings are not at a transitioning position.

4 is the trigger key, 3 is to stop and reengage the mechanism so that you can manually control the sweep angle precisely like what's on the Mig-23
