[SRN] Escort Automaton

A relatively cheap escort ship, able to follow you in formation or attack any enemy nearby. You can use multiple at once. It works on planets, altough its not crash proof.


SETUP

Paste or move the automaton to the desired formation position. Once there, go to its AI Recorder Block. At the bottom of its settings, select the beacon of your command ship (this is vital). Then, right above that, press the Add waypoint button. The drone is now set up! You must do this for every drone you want in your formation, with different waypoints.

The command ship will need an antenna, a beacon, and at least one action relay.



COMMANDS

The automaton has 4 commands, each with its own Action Relay Channel
1-Follow: the automaton will move and stay in the recorded waypoint around your ship
2-Stop: the automaton will stop all AI behaviour.
3-Attack: The automaton will leave formation and attack anything in range
4-Add waypoint: lets you add the waypoint remotely.


The SRN Adrasta blueprint has been updated to be able to use these drones. You will find the action relay on toolbar control4

The drone isnt the best pilot and wont always stay pointing the way you like, but generally when going at high speed it will. If the drone isnt moving when you start accelerating, rotating the ship a bit tends to get them to react. Feel free to mess around with the AI settings to try stuff out. If you only want one drone, its easier to use the AI basic block and its "follow me" function (doesnt need a beacon)

Note that if you want to give different orders to different drones you will have to asign them different channels
