The RF-8 was an aerosleigh or aerosan used by the soviet union, it used a radial aircraft engine to propel itself on snow and ice. Its crew consisted of the driver and a gunner equipped with a DT machine gun. It was used mostly for recon and scouting missions since it was not well armored or armed but very fast and agile

The NKL-26 was an armored aerosan used by the soviets, it could reach speeds up to 50 km/h thanks to its aircraft engine. It was significantly up armored from the rf-8 with a plywood construction and a frontal 10 mm armor plate. They acted as support to combat ski battalions and were a formidable opponent
