All you have to do is click on the controller from the game page and choose Xbox One controller from the community page. The sensitivity will be too high, so I set mine to 60% from the controller setup page in steam (no need to use big picture mode). In game make sure to set the voice input option to off, this will allow you to hold LB and answer questions that require responses. Then you should be good to go, hope this helps anyone who loves this game but hates the controller functionality.
