100% ACHIEVEMENT GUIDE | Dead Island 2
由 XEALEEN 制作
This is a comprehensive guide detailing a way of getting for all achievements in the game. If you have never played this game or are just hunting for achievements, this guide will show you how to get them all.

The search function of a browser may be used to find a specific achievement faster (Ctrl+F).
I wish you success in getting all the in-game achievements

Work in progress: work on this guide is still ongoing. Maybe now it looks like just a list of achievements, but it will not be so for long. Very soon, I will update each achievement with a detailed description and a screenshot or video explaining how to unlock it.

Thank you for you patience!

Achievement Info
Who Do You Voodoo!

Complete Story Missions
Your first and most important task in the first stages of the game will be to complete all 24 Main Missions. This will give you an understanding of the core mechanics of the game, remove unmissable story achievements, and allow you to focus on something more specific such as looting collectibles and completing Side Missions.

Complete Side Missions
After the story you will have access to all Side Missions which can grant your some more achievement. Even though some Side Missions don’t unlock achievements directly, you will still have to do all of them to unlock gameplay and side mission achievements. A few of the Lost and Found Missions are locked behind Side Missions progress, so this is why you should do Side Missions anyway.

Seek. Crush. Slash. Destroy.
Kill zombies the way you want, your character determines your play style, but you always have a choice in weapons and how to deal with the undead. Use imagination and variety in ways to kill these walking dead and you will not only add sparkle to your gameplay, but also get achievements for it.

Explore the World
The game world is full of interesting and exciting places to explore and very often your search is rewarded. Loot everything that may be useful in your adventures, take it for yourself because the dead no longer need it all, and you will, among other things, receive in-game achievements.

Spoiler Alert.
Despite the fact that the game has been released before on EGS and other platforms, due to its exclusivity, many players still do not know the game's story twists. This guide may contain story spoilers, so if you don't want to spoil your experience of the game, it's best to come back here after finishing all story/side missions. Otherwise, I refuse to accept all claims about the presence of spoilers.

There are 48 “Non-Story Missions” (33 Side Missions, 15 Lost and Found Missions) in base game. You need to do these missions to unlock other achievement anyway. So to keep things simple, finish the main story first, feel free to do any side missions along the way to level up, then after the story focus you can go back everywhere in free-roam and do any remaining mission. Nothing is missable here.

You can keep track of your overall progress in the Title Screen. When scrolling over a region map it also shows how many missions are available there, but keep in mind that particularly the Lost and Found Weapon missions are unmarked.

All Missing Persons quests are started in Ocean Avenue. After advancing the story through this area, you will get red icons on the map in the Ocean Avenue HQ. There will be missing person letters on the wall by the elevators. Picking up those letters starts the quests. Do some quests, then come back for new quests to spawn. A few are only available after finishing the entire main story. The simplest approach is to finish the story first, then come back for these.

Some Missing Person quests have quest markers so be sure to track them from the quest menu. But some are trickier and require you to search a lot with few quest markers.

Challenges are little gameplay tasks you do naturally as you play. Even without focusing on these you will complete the vast majority automatically from game progression. Every challenge gives some type of reward: character’s stats, money or items.

Not all Challenges track from the start of the game. Some challenges unlock gradually as you advance the story. The best approach is to finish the story first, then do all Side & Lost and Found Missions. By that point all challenges are available and you will have completed most of them already from mission progress. But you can still check your challenges with this list to make sure you're going in the right direction and not missing anything.

Complete these first tiers of every challenge to unlock the achievement. If you have issues with finding specific zombie type then just check Zombologist achievement section in this guide or go to in-game Zompedia.

🧟 Max Headroom

Level 30 is the highest level in the game. You will reach it naturally by doing all Main Missions, Side and Lost & Found Missions so no grinding is necessary here. You get enough XP from Missions rewards and killing the zombies directly on your path in quest areas.

You will get to about Level 22 from the story alone. The remaining levels will come from doing the Side and Lost & Found Missions.
🧟 Down with the Sickness

First, you must finish Main Quest #21: The Search for Truth. This is near the end of the story and unlocks Numen Skills and Autophage Tiers. Your Autophage level is then displayed in the Skills Menu, in the bottom right corner under Autophage and you can see the effects of each Level. There are 3 levels total.

To increase this to Level 3, equip skill cards with a skull icon at the bottom. These also say AUTOPHAGE skill in their description. You unlock more of these Skill Cards automatically as you level up and advance the main story. After the story you will have enough cards with skull icons to pop the trophy.

Simply equip any 3 skill cards with a skull icon and the achievements will pop right away. No need to do anything with it or kill any zombies. Each Autophage Skill Card increases the Autophage Tier by one.
🧟 This Is My Weapon

Superior weapons are colored purple in the inventory. They becomes a frequent occurrence mid-late game (Level 20+). They can also be bought from merchants at that point. Go to any workbench and add three mods to all the slots. It doesn’t matter what rarity mods you pick, they can be lower rarity like green and blue or a mix of them.
🧟 Anger Management

Complete Main Quest 14: The Red Mist to unlock Fury Attacks first.

After unlocking this ability, you will see a skull icon in the top left corner that fills up as you slay zombies. When the icon is fully red, you can activate Fury Mode. In this mode you attack enemies with your bare hands and deal increased damage.

Defeat a total of 50 enemies in Fury Mode with your bare hands to get the achievement. It doesn’t have to be in one activation of Fury Mode, it counts across all activations.
🧟 Not Even My Final Form

Mutators are one of the last zombie types you encounter, very late in the game. As long as they aren’t alerted they stay in their normal form and look like common walkers. They will be called Walkers too when aiming at them before they transform but unlike other Walkers they have a naked upper body (no clothes), are male, and usually wear brown cargo pants. If you make noise or alert them, they will quickly transform into big monsters with a claw-hand and an open ribcage.

While in Stealth, use a hunting rifle to quickly headshot the Walker with naked upper body and brown cargo pots before it has time to transform into the monster. Also you can use Fury Mode and quickly punch the Walker before it transforms. If there are other Walkers spawning then the ones wearing clothes on their upper body are not the right ones.

With some luck you might get this naturally at some point without even trying. Focus on doing all quests first, if you haven’t gotten it by that point go do it at Mutator Hotspots. You can fast travel back and forth between maps after the story to respawn the Mutators. Alternatively, you can close the game if the Mutator transformed and load back in to respawn at the Mutator Hotspot. This also works if the Mutator already transformed, it will reset to Walker form, saves you the running around between fast travel maps and loading times.

🧟 Hazardous Materials

Defeat 100 Zombies using the 3 main elements in the game: Caustic (green acid), Fire (red), Shock (purple). There are several ways of killing zombies with elemental damage.
  • Modify your weapons at a workbench with elemental damage.
  • Use Curveballs that deal elemental damage.
  • Use the Environment to cause chain reactions, for example set oil on fire with a fire element weapon, or lure enemies into electricity or acid.
  • Use Skill Cards that deal elemental damage, such as spitting acid in Fury Mode (many skill cards are different between characters)
You will get this naturally while doing all missions in the game because you have to defeat so many zombies, and they will walk into electricity and other traps by themselves when trying to follow you. When you kill a total of 100 zombies with elemental damage, you will get the achievement.
🧟 Break a Leg

Any sharp weapons that you own can cut zombies legs. Just focus on aiming every zombie's legs while completing the Main Quests or Side Quests.
🧟 Coup De Grace

When zombies are at low health and fall to the ground, you will get prompt to stomp them. This counts as a Finisher, do it 25 times total. If you want to get it quickly, damage a few zombies to low health, then kick them repeatedly with to drain their stamina until they fall over, walk near their head and push the button prompt to stomp them.

🧟 Donk!

Have a full inventory of throwing weapons, find a zombie far away, keep throwing the melee weapons until you hit it. Try to do this against stationary zombies that either stand in one spot or feed on a corpse.

You need to aim pretty high above the zombie to account for the dropoff at that distance. Just keep aiming a little higher each time if your weapon doesn’t fly far enough, or aim lower it it flew too far. Small and light weapons are best for it. Heavy weapons such as big hammers don’t fly very far. If you miss repeatedly, pick up your weapons and try again. The zombie will get alerted so you’ll either have to find a different zombie or fast travel away and come back (fast travel is unlocked after Main Quest 14: The Red Mist).

You can’t put a waypoint marker anywhere you want. So you’ll have to guess the distance. A possible method to get a rough measurement is to place a waypoint at a point of interest on the map that lines up behind the zombie, then walk straight in the opposite direction of the waypoint until the distance on the HUD has increased 35+ meters (go a few meters further just to be safe). If the achievement doesn’t pop it’s because you weren’t far enough.
🧟 I Got a Zombie Army and You Can’t Harm Me

Press Left Alt to dodge an enemy attack just before it hits you to perform a perfect dodge.
Repeat this 25 times. You should get this naturally during your game walkthrough.
🧟 Ooh, Shiny!

Legendary Weapons are the orange colored weapons. You get a legendary weapon automatically for completing the main story. But they are also obtained as rewards from other endgame quests. Here is the full list of base game legendary weapons.

🧟 Bookworm

There are 234 Journals in total but you only need 50 to unlock this achievement.

Funny to hear, but this one cannot be missed during your walkthrough cause you automatically get 112 Journals from missions (22 from Story, 39 from Side Missions, 51 from Lost and Found Missions). These cannot be missed, you are forced to pick them up as part of mission objectives. So just complete the missions and don’t worry about this.
🧟 Slayer Squad / I Am the Resurrection

Just finish any 5 quests in co-op. Join someone else’s game or simply start a new character and have someone join you if you already completed all quests in your walkthrough. It doesn’t matter if you finish Main, Side, or Lost & Found Quests, they all count for this achievement. It also doesn’t matter if you do this with the same one co-op partner or with different ones.

It is much easier to get with a friend, simply have your friend get downed by a zombie, revive him and repeat that 4 times more. Even when playing with random players in public mode there’s a good chance you will easly get 5 revives while going for the 5 co-op quests. So try to unlock these two achievements together.
🧟 Lawn And Order

During the Main Mission: The Invitation, you’ll be tasked with heading into a Suburban looking neighborhood by going through the left hallway in the main room of the DLC.

While in this area, if you walk on the grass it will spawn zombies to come attack you. You’ll need to maim a total of 10 zombies while on the grass in this area using a weapon such as a Shovel. You can find a Shovel in this area behind the second house on the left from the entrance of the area.

You’ll want to aim for the zombies legs so you don’t accidentally kill them before you can main them. After maiming a zombie for the 10th time in this area, the achievement will unlock.
🧟 Whatever It Takes

Story related, can't be missed.

This unlocks just before the end of the Main Mission #1: The Invitation. During this mission, you’ll need to complete 3 Rites of Passage in order to progress the story. Each of the Rites of Passage is located inside one of the Suburban houses, except the second house on the right, which just has loot inside.
🧟 Wilhelm

During the Main Mission: The Deeper, you’ll be tasked with heading into the underground club known as The Deep by going through the house at the end of the Suburban neighborhood and heading through the broken wall where the kitchen would be.

In this area, there will be a lot of holes in the ground that if you or a zombie fall into, will die. You’ll need to kick a total of 15 zombies into these pits around the area.
🧟 Top That, Tisha!

First you have to find the K-Prototype crossbow at the very start of the Main Mission: Dinner Date. From this point on, you can attempt this achievement wherever you want.

The best way to earn the achievement is to find an area where a lot of Shamblers, Walkers, and Runners spawn, such as Venice Beach. Before starting, it’s recommended to put the Speedloader perk on your Crossbow so your reload speed is faster, which will give you a bit more window for error.

Fast travel to the Blue Crab and go outside into the parking lot. Turn to the right and jump over the fence to get the attention of as many zombies as possible. Once you think you got enough zombies, jump back over the fence and all the zombies should be lining up along the fence. Doing this method, you can aim your shots easier without risk of getting interrupted by a zombie from behind. Just make sure you’re still quick with your shots.
🧟 Pork Chopped

Story related and can't be missed.

This unlocks after defeating the boss at the end of the Main Mission #3: Dinner Date. The boss is basically a modified version of a Crusher that is immune to Bleed damage. There will always be lots of other zombies trying to swarm you at the same time.

For this reason, a Electrocutor Modded Shotgun with the Static Charge perk is advantageous as it will do tons of shock damage to both Long Piglet as well as the surrounding zombies. This setup isn’t required however. You can easily use whatever you have available to you and fight them as you would a normal Crusher since that is all the boss fight essentially is, just with more health.
🧟 One Of Us

Unmissable and story-related. This unlocks after completing the last main mission of the DLC called The Ark of Ascension.

During the last mission you’ll be tasked with deploying the ark. You’ll need to fight your way through a number of zombies, while clearing all the Dark Brains in order to progress further into the building. Once you reach the ark, you’ll need to clear the Dark Brains off the ark, as well as clear waves of zombies afterwards.

The waves are relatively small and shouldn’t pose much of an issue. Guns, especially an Electrocuter Modded Shotgun with the Static Charge perk, are really useful here as there will be a lot of Apex Variants during these waves. After destroying the last Dark brain on the ark, you’ll have to face the last wave while in Fury mode. All of the zombies are nearly dead during this section, so it’s extremely easy to just spam attack as you run at them.

After the last wave is cleared, approach the ark and interact with the gate to watch the final cutscene of the DLC.

🧟 The Direct Approach

You need to pick up a new skill card for this. During one of the main quests you are tasked to go to the main stage through the eco village. At the end of the village and just before jumping down to the main stage, you will be in a pool area. The card is lying in front at the right of the area. It pretty hard to miss if you look around a bit.
🧟 Rip 'n' Tear

These involve the two new weapons: the Ripper and the Sawblade.

You can get the Ripper as soon as you arrive in the safehouse of the dlc as its for sale in the vending machine. The way the weapon works is that if you keep doing damage with it, it will spin faster. There is a red meter attached to the weapon and when its full, it will be in its supercharged state. In that state you deal tons of extra damage and your heavy will do a special finisher. I'm not sure if you need to just defeat zombs in that state or do the special finisher 5 times but I just did both to be sure.

The Sawblade is something you get after finishing the dlc. This weapon also has a charge mode. For this one I do think you need to do 5 charge kills since the throphy did not pop for me by doing normal kills. The Sawblade is fully charged as soon as the blade on the launcher lifts up.
🧟 Festival Clean Up Simulator

The Utopia area is located where the disco is, its in the upper right part on the map. Upon entering the area from the gate, stick to the right and follow the wall until you get to a bar. Next to the bar is a half open gate with a toxic barrel lying in between. There is also a note placed on the gate that hints at a cleanup.

To cleanup the area, shoot the barrel and open the gate. Once inside, you need to close the valve of the toxic waste and shoot one more barrel of toxic waste. Once all the toxic residue in that area dissapears (no need to use water barrels, it dissapears on its own), the achievement pops.

Looks like Lawn and Order is missable (or bugged) if not completed on first run through of the cul de sac area during Haus dlc

Lawn and Order achievement is bugged for me, can't seem to achieve it even if I have more than 15 zombies crawling in the grass. Anyone else experienced it too? Any fix?

For amassing 1 million, you cannot sell back to vendors as they seem they have patched it. Make sure you have finished everything in the game first, have only 1-3 legendary weapons in your inventory, and just keep looting and selling pick up weapons of the ground, enemies, and stashes to get to $1 million.
