Visit the discord, there's a thread where I made a big effort into translating settlish. Someone else made another attempt recently (though they seemed to ignore my prior work, oddly)
Thanks for pointing out the typos! I think I've fixed them all. I didn't even think to look at the text file!
Interesting that the sun gate used to be called TCYG. I didn't start trying to translate the text until the language was redone but from what I understand all of the meanings were preserved. I was kind of skeptical of GOTO being game, but the more I think about it, the more I think it could fit.
The cocoon could be a "game blueprint" or "game plan" (haha) in that it represents Luna's eventual plan for the game which is gradually realized. The Eye Stalker's sidequest could be a "game" it creates (it does seem to take place in a literal amphitheater!) And I could definitely picture the kobolds creating Magnum Spark for their own entertainment. All in all a definite possibility!
Interesting, I'll have to check out the Discord!
AIME definitely sounds like some sort of movement. LU meaning "light" or something related to light would make sense since the language appears to take inspiration from Latin/Romance languages! I've been translating VO as "other" but void/absence could also fit - I'm adding it to the list of possibilities!
I'm pretty sure that GOTO is a noun given the context in which it's used, so I don't think it's "go to," "become," or "get" but "change" seems to work well in all contexts! The sketched-in cocoon being a "change blueprint" makes sense, as does Magnum Spark (who started off as a pile of discarded items) being the "Keeper of Change." The text in the Eye Stalker's sidequest pamphlet could be telling adventurers that they need to change to ranged attacks, which would make sense given that his quest involves switching between all of the different classes!
Third message from Cerise is "ORA MIDIAI DE IS RO!", not MIDAI.
First message from Magnum is "EATAL DE VOACI RO KON VOTOM.", note both EATAL and KON
Fourth message from Magnum is "AL DE RA TO! MOD DE IS GOTO...", RA TO being separate
and final is "FIAI ZEALU!!", as opposed to gealu
Text in regular font is all in the LOC-EN.txt file, just with important bits hidden behind a ceasar-13 cipher, so those were easy to confirm.
Godspeed on trying to figure it out, I am too impatient for that.
TVTropes says that the text pointing at unfinished sun gate used to be "TCYG" [To Close Your Game] making me think that GOTO might mean Game/Entertainment [Magnum Spark, being effectively an entertainment attraction, being Keeper of the game? not too outlandish, maybe.]
It's funny that VOTOM [Shutdown] can be broken down into Other-Moon. Symbolic.
I think people concluded on the discord that VO means "without" (void), while LU means "light" or "sun", or even "moon".
GOTO may just mean "Go to", or "Become", or "Get", or "Change".
