+ Amazing Race Tweaks! Wood Elf

Don't just command animals for a short time--make them followers! Don't merely slow time with a shout--slow time and increase weapon speed at the same time! Don't simply guess where foes are--know exactly where they are with your tracking power! These are some of the improvements this mod makes to the Wood Elf and Wood Elf Vampire player races. (For more, see Features of the Mod, below.) It's completely safe, as no changes are permanent. If you unsubscribe, your character's abilites and powers return to what they were before.

1. Description
============

The goal of this series of mods is to make each race unique. If a mod doesn't give a race powers and abilities you can't get from any other race, then it shouldn't be called Amazing Race Tweaks! Right? My first character was a Wood Elf, so everything I wished the race had it is in this mod. I never understood why I could command animals, but none would become followers. So the mod lets you make almost any animal a follower. I wondered why there was no tracking skill. So the mod adds a power to detect life outdoors. I couldn't fathom why elves in movies moved so quickly in combat, but in Skyrim they had the same speed as an average Orc. So the mod lets you increase your weapon speed while slowing time for everyone else.

2. Features of the Mod
===================

Befriend Animal. Power lets you make an animal or creature a follower once a day. It will remain a follower until you dismiss it, will follow you into cities and buildings and obeys simple commands, "Stay," "Come," and "Go back to where we first met." You may have only one animal or creature as a follower at a time. It is an aimed (not area) power, so it's a good idea to use Calm Animal, first, especially if the target is fast-moving. Also, many of the creatures and animals require Illusion perks to follow you (see Animal and Creature Followers, below).

Calm Animals. Lesser power you may use as often as you want lets you pacify all animals in the immediate area for 60 seconds. Pacified animals stop fleeing or fighting (useful for getting them to stop moving so you can use Befriend Animal). Illusion perks are required to calm many of the animals and creatures (see Animal and Creature Followers, below).

Command Animals. Power works like the original but effects more creatures, and requires Illusion perks for many of them (see Animal and Creature Followers, below). If the commanded animal is a predator, it will fight for you for 5 minutes but will not follow you.

Wood Elf Fury. Lesser power simulates deadly speed in combat. For 15 seconds, it slows time for foes, but greatly increases the speed of your one-hand weapons (by 200%) and bows (by 300%). Makes it easy to block, dodge and attack foes, as their melee attacks and spells are in slow motion. The caveat is it drains your stamina by 15 points per second, making you exhausted. It may be used as often as you like, but requires your stamina to be at least 95% recovered before using it again. So you will likely use it no more than once each combat, unless you have good restore stamina potions.

Wood Elf Tracking. Lesser power simulates tracking as often as you like, but only when sneaking and outside. Just activate the power and get into a sneaking position. For 60 seconds at a time, any living person, animal or creature will glow, even if behind trees, rocks or hills. It does not work on undead or dwarven machines.

New and Improved Abilities. Racial abilities are now:
* Disease and poision resistance 75%.
* Stamina regenerates 10% faster than normal.
* Skills improve faster: Archery and Illusion 20% faster. Alchemy and Sneak 10% faster.
* Stealth enhanced: When outside, you are 25% harder to detect.

Starting Skills and Spells. New characters only receive the following. Archery and Illusion: +15 (both better than any other race). Alchemy and Sneak: +10. Lockpicking: -10 (reason is Wood Elves live outdoors and so are less familiar with locks). Starting spells remain the same. (Note: To keep the starting spells unchanged, simply wait to enable this mod until reaching level 2.)

To make sure this mod loads, after subscribing, launch Skyrim, wait for the launch screen to display a message that all mods finished synchronizing, then exit Skyrim to the desktop. Relaunch Skyrim. The mod should now be loaded.


There are no known bugs. Please report any you think you find. Mods changing races might be incompatible.


There's no need to unsubscribe. After subscribing, you may easily disable the mod at anytime:

1. Start the Skyrim launcher
   
2. Wait for it to display a message that mods finished synchronizing
   
3. Select Data Files
   
4. Remove the checkmark next to this mod
   
5. Select OK and Play
