My take on Bofors' iconic 40 mm anti-aircraft autocannon. I built the main gun for my PT Boat so I thought I'd adapt it and put it on its regular land based carriage too. It's very much a simplified approximation and not a 1:1 replica.
This one has the other coupling. Which makes more sense TBH but most vehicles seem to use this coupling on the main vehicle, not the trailers.

Info from Wikipedia.
******
The Bofors 40 mm Automatic Gun L/60 (often referred to simply as the "Bofors 40 mm gun", the "Bofors gun" and the like, is an anti-aircraft autocannon, designed in the 1930s by the Swedish arms manufacturer AB Bofors. The gun was designed as an intermediate anti-aircraft gun, filling the gap between fast firing close-range small calibre anti-aircraft guns and slower firing long-range high calibre anti-aircraft guns. The Bofors 40 mm L/60 was for its time perfectly suited for this role and outperformed competing designs in the years leading up to World War II in both effectiveness and reliability.

It entered the export market around 1932 and was in service with 18 countries by 1939. Throughout World War II it became one of the most popular and widespread medium-weight anti-aircraft guns. It was used by the majority of the western Allies and some Axis powers such as ♥♥♥♥ Germany and Hungary.

The gun can be controlled from either seat so if you want to make it even harder to hit anything one player can control the elevation and one the traverse like in real life. :)
Don't forget to release the handbrake from the default seat on the right-hand side of the gun (looking along the barrel) before towing it!
It does have regular brakes too so if its being towed you can have a braker on the gun in the default seat.

CONTROLS
Alt controls to control the gun from either seat/both seats.
Up/Down arrows / Mouse: Elevation.
Left/Right arrows / Mouse: Traverse.
Fire action 1 / Num 1: Fire gun. Fire rate is approximately 2 shots/second.

Raising and lowering the axles, deploying the carriage stands and lowering/raising the supports is all done with named black or hidden buttons near the respective part.
- Fold out the carriage stands (the arms of the "cross").
- Raise axles.
- Lower supports to get the gun level and lift the wheels off the ground.
- Shoot!

Thanks for 1K subs on this one too. :)

Well there's only two sizes of the coupling ball/connector and the new smaller one is not very common I think, especially on trucks, at least not on trucks. All the other coulings wotk with one another regardless of the plate size since AFAIK the connector ball size is the same. The height shouldn't matter too much if it's not extreme since the tow bar is hinged and will work a an angle too. But yeah there is little standardisation between builds with couplings for sure. 🙂

Well, often the size of hinge is diffrent or height its placed on, so I though you maybe had used some truck for reference but still thanks

Nope. The only truck I've built is Soviet so it's not really a match though it has the coupling like in the pics of the other variant. So you can use any truck or halftrack or jeep with a coupling you can find in the workshop. I made versions with both type of couplings since MOST cars and trucks use the female coupling (for some reason since in reality they use the male/knob) but not all. :)

I love the gun, did u make it to be compatibile with some special truck?
