Intro
Are you having trouble with those pesky Triple/Triangle/Dorito Note Patterns? Is reading more than 2 notes in general a challenge? This guide is here to help you learn how to read these patterns since it’s essential for high evel play.

Note: I will be using the standard PlayStation Button layout in this guide; For reference
Those Pesky notes…
The most important thing about treiangle notes is that they ALWAYS have a and ()
(All official charts will use this format)

Depending on the placement of the triple notes (whether it’s on the left or right) you will have to press either or :
If it's on the left: () & ()

If it's on the right: () & ()

Left pattern
Right Pattern: ]
Why are these even a thing?
Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA MegaMix+ is a port of the arcade cabinet game “Project Diva Arcade”, which utilizes the same playstation buttons from previous console titles, but placed in a horizontal line, like so:

correlates to the left side of the controller in the Arcade Game

This setup is very important when reading high difficulty charts.

How to read triple notes vertically.
Vertical triple notes (usually in just difficult EXTREME/EX EXTREME charts) next to each other tends to look like so:

Noticeably are always together, while and are opposite to each other. Triple notes will always look like this, so when presented with a pattern where multiple triple notes are next to each other, you’ll only have to check if there's a or

When we are presented with a pattern like this, we know that the succeeding notes are going to be different.
Different setups/macros
Here’s an easy setup to deal with triple notes as a beginner:

This is how I got used to triple notes when I started playing project diva, which helped me internalize the arcade layout. (L1 for left, R1 for right)

Other epic Project Diva players like Hisokeee use their left hand to press at the same time, while their other hand presses or

Players like Deathblood Use an L1: ( ) R2:( ) Layout.

The possibilities for play are endless, so it's best to just find a layout that works best for you.

Hold Notes
As a bonus, here's a video by hisokee explaining how to cheat hold notes (this Is in the ps4 game but can be done in megmix by binding To R1 And R2.

Thank you so much for reading, Hatsune Miku Loves you!

I find pressing the X/B and A/Y using the LT/RT much better than using both the ABXY and the d-pad just for pressing 2 notes together. But with triple notes, it's on another level. :mikuDIVA: It needs some practice to press both the LT/RT and the third note.
