Have you a laptop with an NVIDIA discrete CPU?
We noticed that Nvidia systems has troubles to run S2Engine so we discovered a way to put RTX to work with S2Engine.


S2Engine for unkown reasons does not ALWAYS recognize RTX GPUs (OpenGL) Drivers ON LAPTOPS with dual graphics (integrated+discrete) when launching S2Editor so we decided to find/track the issue that causes S2Engine Shutdown/Crash on Modern RTX GPUs.

So i made this "On The Go" solution/guide while Devs are working for possible Patch for this known issue.

  • Note that S2Engine requires OpenGL 4.0v to run correctly
Make sure u got all ur drivers Upated.

Download Microsoft Compatibility Pack![apps.microsoft.com] | Download Latest Nvidia Graphic Drivers[la.nvidia.com].

Update ur Graphics Card Manually
Fluttershy will teach ya how to Update ur #%!$ RTX/DGPU card Driver! just follow her steps!


Also keep Windows System up to date in Windows Update



How to use RTX Graphic Card?
  • Go to Device Manager

    - Right Click on ur Intel GPU > Disable Device

Enable "Discrete Graphics Card"

  • Some brand Models have Different way to Enable Discrete Graphics card, you gotta find it looking by ur Model.
For MSI Machines
- Simply Go to MSI Center > General Settings > Switch Graphics > enable "Discrete Graphics Card"

  • Some Old MSI Models may need to Enable it via Bios.
    Check Compatible Models with MSI Center Listed Here[www.msi.com].

    - "Ok" System will Reboot and now you're using RTX GPU with Discrete GPU to run S2Engine!
