To play, you need :

1. Restore the multiplayer if you haven't already done so. It is possible to see how this is done here
   
2. Download [WOTC Modern Multiplayer Mod]
   
3. Have a full set of DLC or at least 3 of them are required (War of the Chosen, Alien Hunters, Shen's LAst Gift, Tactical Legacy Pack, Anarchy's Children, REinforcement Pack, Resistance Warrior Packt)

Here is a list of common problems and ways to solve them:

1.How do I launch the mod?

Start the game, open “Mod launcher”

check the box next to “ModernMultiplayerMod".
Please note that all other modifications must be turned off.

2. I launched the mod, but no new content appeared.

Solution: Exit the game, open the modification menu as described in paragraph 1. Uncheck the “ModernMultiplayerMod", then click the "Update” button in the upper right corner, then check the box again. Then log in to the game.

3.The opponent has created a room, but I can't see him.

Solution: try to connect to your opponent via the steam invitation. If the game issues an error message due to a mismatch in the game version, see point 4

4. Mistake: inconsistencies in the game version.

Solution:
a) make sure that you and your opponent have turned off all modifications except "ModernMultiplayerMod". If not, turn them off.
b) make sure that you did not make changes to the configuration files of the game during the singplayer. If something has been changed, you will need to check the local game files and restore the multiplayer mode to the method described above
c) Make sure that Steam has automatically uploaded the latest mod update. To do this, log out of the game, go to the workshop in Modern Multiplayer Mod and re-subscribe to it.

To make sure which side of the problem is on, you can involve 3 players who will check whose two-player lobby he will see and with whom he can play.

5. The game crashes after a few moves, the timer at the beginning of the game is at 0000 and does not change for several minutes, units of one player are in shelters, and the other they are displayed without, etc.

Solution: Make sure your DLC list is completely the same. Any difference in the list of installed DLCs can cause the above problems.

6. All buttons in the multiplayer menu are grayed out and cannot be pressed.
Solution: Check that your version of the game meets all the requirements listed above. If the buttons in the menu are unavailable, this means that:
you do not have a full set of the specified DLCs;
you have modified any of the game's configuration files;
you have activated the developer console in the game's launch parameters.
To be able to play multiplayer, you must either purchase a full set of the specified DLCs, or check the local game files, or remove the -allowconsole line from the launch parameters, or all of these together.
