Welcome
Welcome. Through this guide I hope to help some people learn how to be more patient. Being patient is quite easy to do. All you have to do is wait! Now this may sound hard to do but it really isn't. Read on to learn of things you can do while waiting that will help you be a more patient you.
Wait
Say you are ready for the wave ahead, but some of your allies aren't. Before you get angry at them and start spamming "G" in the chat, here are a few things to think about:

  • Somebody may be performing essential maintenance on defences.
Your defences are often an essential component to a level's success. Without defences, enemies could walk straight through to your crystal and defeat you! This would mean you have to restart the level. So take some time and maybe help them perform some maintenance too, as this would help get the job done quicker.

  • Somebody may be building some defences.
As said before, defences can be essential to your success on a level. If there are no defences on a lane, then there could be some trouble. Make sure you check your map periodically for any missing defenses, and keep an eye on the Defence Units for any drops. If the number is lower than before, then something may have been destroyed.

  • Somebody may be checking out a sweet new item that dropped, and are considering the stats it gives.
In this game, there are a lot of enemies, and they can drop a lot of loot. Loot comes in all sorts of shapes and sizes, and is instanced for each player, so you will not see the same weapons and armour as your allies. There could be some sweet new shield that an ally is looking at. Have a look on the map and see if any of your allies are standing still. They may be checking out said awesome loot. So give them some time and they will be able to decide.

  • Somebody may not know you are waiting for them.
There is also the chance that somebody is not readied yet, and do not know it. If you are waiting on another player to ready up, simply politely remind them that you are waiting on them. They should then ready up and the wave should begin soon.

  • Someone may be AFK
One of your allies may be what is known as 'AFK' (traditionally "Away from Keyboard" but has been used these days regardless of input device being used). If any of your allies are AFK, they will have hopefully told you beforehand that they were going AFK for a bit. If they did not tell you, then that is rude. Try typing their name in chat and asking if ther are present. If they do not respond and still do not move then you will just have to wait a bit. They will likely be back soon, but if they do not come back then you will just have to wait for the wave countdown timer to end.

Relax
If none of these situations is true, and an ally is just hopping around in circles, and not pressing "G", then let them know you are waiting on them. If they still refuse to ready up, then you will just have to wait it out. No point arguing with them or anything. You should just relax. Sit back and employ a few of these techniques:
  • Admire the Scenery
Just sit there and look around at the level and take in the detail. If, per chance, your computer is not up to date in the graphics department, then the game may not look as good for you as it would for others. If this is the case, try moving your real head. Look at the scenery around you.
  • Listen to some music
If one or more of your team mates is being obnoxious, and not readying up just to spite you, then you might get a bit cranky. But do not take out your anger on them, that is likely what they want from you. Instead, you could go on youtube and search for some calming music to help your mood. Or you could listen to some energetic music that could get you excited and pumped up for the next wave. Can't have you falling asleep, now can we?(Listening to music can also help drown out the annoying throbbing noise that the Cat-a-Copter's aura makes).
  • Close your eyes and relax
Just lay back in your chair(I wouldn't recommend leaning back on the chair, as this puts a lot of strain on the back legs and they could break off and hurt you), close your eyes, and relax. Just remember not to get too relaxed and fall asleep, or you will be a hanging piece of meat for the goblins to eat.
  • Watch some youtube videos
You may have a favourite youtuber that plays games and does funny commentary. Search their channel on youtube for anything new, or anything you may have missed in the past. If you really are a faithful subscriber and have watched every one of their videos, then search up other youtubers. Maybe your favourite has some others that he/she plays some games with(I won't mention any names of youtubers here simply to avoid looking like advertisement).
  • Search for other tutorials online
I am not a master of peace by any means, so if you need extra help relaxing, open up the steam browser while waiting(this is so you can hear if the wave begins) and look up some hints, tips or tricks on relaxing.
Still having trouble?
Then maybe it is time for a change of scene for you. This game can require some strategy, and that can take some time. If you do not like waiting, and just want to slaughter things right now then there may be a game better suited to your likes. Have a look on the steam store for some other games to play. Checking the game's tags can help, as these sort games into categories that outline the way they are played.

If the reason for your impatience is the source of having played this level on 5 other characters, then maybe you would be better off running a private game. This way you can use your higher level characters, set up defences, and then change to your low level character and just coast through the waves and level up that character without having to see a single goblin(dependent entirely on level size and setup).
Conclusion
To sum up the information given to you in this guide, here are a few key points.
  • Check what your allies are doing
  • Check around the map
  • Relax
  • Admire the scenery
  • Listen to some music
  • Watch some youtube videos

    And most importantly:

  • Wait

Now you may go and play some Dungeon Defenders: Eternity, and perhaps after reading this guide, have an improved experience.

I'd like to thank everybody for their input. This started as a joke, but I have been determined to flesh it out to be something of a propper guide.

"Relax" section is in progress right now. Yyelo is fairly adamant about making this guide. :lonestar:
