There's this bug in patch v1.112fm (I guess the steam version is automatically patched up to this), where Paul Denton has disappeared from his hotel room after you've sent the NSF signal.

I'm just posting the solution here because I just had this bug myself while replaying DX1, really jarateed me off because I didn't want to replay hours so I figured out how to fix it. Maybe this will help someone if they find this thread through google or something.

Solution A - when you're dropped off in Hell's Kitchen, enter the hotel through Paul's window, and leave through the front door. Never exit the hotel through Paul's window. This can prevent you from getting this bug in the first place.

Solution B - in case you've already in the point where paul has gone MIA, you need to use the console.

Press t, (always delete the "say")

Type "set DeusEx.JCDentonMale bCheatsEnabled true" (without " " marks)

Type "summon PaulDenton"

Now exit the hotel through the window, and go back inside through the window. This will make Paul's skin change if you're not using the default skin.

Type "legend", this will bring up a small window with buttons. Click edit flags.

You need to delete (or set to false) the following flags to make Paul talk to you. I didn't typecheck every flag but you should easily find them even if I have a spelling error in the name.

If you have some of the following, delete them also.

Paul_Dead Player_BailedThroughWindow

Go talk to Paul and you can progress in the game normally, although I haven't found a way to make Paul stay friendly if you attack the MIBs instead of leaving through the window.
