I will admit, the music being silenced is a problem. On the flipside, however, I think the music is too loud, by default, and cannot be adjusted by volume. Some copies also tend to fast forward certain tracks (so for example, British 4 into American 1 and Disembark 4 into Victory, in terms of musical theme jingles). For me, though, I'm okay without it, but I can definitely see this as a potential downside.
instead of extracting everything to the game file. i only left the _inmm238.exe out, then installed the program onto the game file,
Also adding, when extracting, tick update files instead of replace.
i think that's where i was messing up, just unfortunate the music isn't working
-) You could try changing the compatibility of the programme? One thing I had to do to get it working was set compatibility from Windows XP to Windows 8. That did the trick for me, although most PCs don't function on that option. But it is something you could try, as per mentioned in the guide. That said, I've heard Windows XP compatibility is often considered everyone's go to.
-) One other thing you can try is to load the file known as 'warhogs_.exe' - that file is an administrator file, which works for me also. Say if the main .exe file isn't working. You could also add the compatibility changes there, and see if that will fix it.
Unfortunately, as I have discovered during my time with this game (which has been from Autumn 2017 up until now), not all PC's are equal. I think this is where I got/am getting lucky, because my PC has older parts and was originally a Windows 7 PC.
For the music that can easily be resolved in one of two ways. Either rename the clips, or delete the folder entirely for no music whatsoever.
Otherwise, everything should be as normal.
If there is an " _inmmcnf " file in the folder then that will need to be installed.
Another worthy note is you might want to try the usual trick of running in Windows 95 compatibility.
So sorry for the late update - this was sent to me over 3 months ago, and I failed to mention it until now. Sincerest apologies. Feel free to try these tricks and see if it gets the game running.
And, just remember, this is for Windows 10. Furthermore, there is a tutorial on setting the game up for Windows 11, in the Hogs Of War Steam discussions tab, created by another user.
