Logs are one of the most important materials in the game, being used in a variety of recipes.
They can be obtained from all kinds of trees. The bigger the tree, the more logs you will get.

Sap is a less important crafting materiak, obtained from breaking some trees. maple and oak trees give a good amount of it.

Vines are another important material. they can be obtained by breaking bushes, including those with berries. Additionally, they drop from creature nests.

Rocks are used in many crafting recipes, including integral ones such as the campfire. They can be found lying on the ground all around the map. They can also drop from mineable rocks in a method described further.

Silica ore is an important mid-game crafting material. Many players get stuck at this point in the game, since there doesn't seem to be a pickaxe. this particular material inspired me to make this guide. The best way to obtain it seems to be using the laser ability. After the ability is obtained from killing creatures that have it, you can use it by attaching 1 mech-dino eye to your creature.
Any creature with the laser eye ability can drop it, however Mech-Spies are a CP-5 creature that can be killed way easier than most other creatures with mech-dino parts, so it is recommended to go after them to obtain the eye and ability. target the ability at mineable rocks for a chance to get this ore


Iron ore is another mid-game material. It can be obtained the same way as silica ore, targeting the ability at mineable rocks with black cubes in them

Lifeblock materials are obtained by using the Cleaver on various lifeblocks. depending on the lifeblock, the cleaving will result in raw feather materials, raw leather materials or raw fur materials. each of these material types have their own uses in crafting.

NOTE: Cleaving Mech-Dino parts will NOT result in iron.
