Sons and Daughters of Fair Bretonnia!

This mod adds a new unit, Foot Knights of the Realm to all Bretonnian factions that is recruited from the Armoury building. They are very similar to Empire Greatswords but fall short due to a lower armour, health and leadership stat. They compare favourably to Foot Squires, however, but cost more.


FAQ
Q: Why are my units taking so long to recruit?
A: That's because you installed a mod called Immersive Bretonnia, its not being caused by this mod.

Q: Is this mod compatible with such and such mod?
A: If the mod alters vanilla Bretonnia units, buildings, effects or changes the peasant economy in any way, then you will likely experience issues. I don't plan to continue to support and create compatibility mods, you are free to make them yourselves for the mod combination you want to see.

Q: Lily, are you going to add more units? Do you take requests?
A: I'm more likely to revamp and edit the existing units than create new ones. I do take commissions for making separate mods, but I'm fussy with what I work on and I'm not as well versed as other modders with script/lua and many other aspects of modding.

If I make them stronger, people will complain that Bretonnia shouldn't have strong infantry.

Another modder blessed by Kairos Fateweaver on the one hand you are capable of making amazing mods on the other you do not understand how the units work 31 melee defense/attack for "elite" infantry is a joke along with Weapon strength

so if they are the same as squirre THEY ARE USELESS... if THEY COST MORE.... THEN make them stronger !!!!!

Hello Zay. First of all, thank you for all the hard work you put into making these mods. It is appreciated from a fellow Bretonnian. You are doing the Lady's work :)

As for feedback: The Warhammer novel Knight-Errant features Bretonnia going on a campaign against the beastmen, and at the third (i think) battle the Duke in charge of the army asks the knights-errant to give their mounts to the more senior knights as a lot of steeds were lost in the previous battles. The knights-errant are then asked to bolster the depleted infantry (peasant) ranks. They do so (very reluctantly) and fight with sword and shield.

I think bretonnia could really use dismounted sword/shield wielding knights-errant unit rather than a unit that is a upgraded foot squire unit in both function and visuals. And as the novels indicate, knights-errants are more likely to be asked to fight on foot than the KotR.

Love it but wish they had full plate armor in their arms, hands and legs like the mounted knights of the realm.

Other modders are making axe variant foot knights, like enotwasabi. Im playing it safe.

Ah, just what I was looking for! As for including axes, I'm sure someone could add a variety graphic pack to pepper them into the unit if they really wanted to. Will there be a sword/board foot knight in the future? Maybe squire longbows? Either way, thank you so much!

Amazing looking units, i only use them as front line from now on. But it's lacking submod for Blessing of the lady, while all the other units from Overhaul got them

I agree on the sword and shield variant. Would help differentiate them from the foot squires too.
