It probably is rather too common at the moment, isn't it. I'll tone that down.
If you want to change it yourself, it's a very simple XML mod with a single file. You can just go into the XML and edit it, the field you're looking for is mineableScatterCommonality. You might also be interested in mineableScatterLumpSizeRange (how big the deposits are).
You can get into the XML by selecting the mod from the mods list in game and selecting Open Folder.
If you edit the XML in place it will be overridden if and when I update the mod. If you don't want that to happen you can make a local copy by copying the mod folder into your RimWorld/Mods folder (and probably giving in a more readable name than the string of numbers the steam folders use).
You can get to your RimWorld folder by selecting RimWorld in Steam, right clicking and choosing Manage.../Browse local files
If you (or anyone else) wants to tweak it yourself, it's just a color value set in the XML - specifically <colorTwo>.
