This guide is intended to make you better at fighting bosses in Star Of Providence. It has been made someone who's fought those bosses without taking hits and without using bombs.
It is made to teach you how to not take hits from these DREADFUL CREATURES!

CHAOSGOD
So, you've made it this far, conquered the dungeon of the Warden and smashed him into oblivion. GOOD!

Though, remember when he told you "Don't let it escape"?






Alright, so, what did you just see? Unfathomable horrors, yes, but also something else. A way to conquer them perhaps?

CHAOSGOD

ChaosGod is a fearsome opponent, something you do not mess with.
Upon his cold domain, the first thing your eyes will gaze upon is the orifice in it's head. Or is it an eye, just too dark to distinguish if it is the abyss staring back at you?


COLD RINGS




You should be familiar with how to dodge this kind of attacks by now, but allow me to explain the best way to not get hit.
  • You have to go between spikes, and you will have to try to do it as fast as possible while going towards your enemy.
  • It is best to not stay put to the bottom of the screen, as you might get stuck in a situation where taking damage is unavoidable. This is especially true with the PHASE 2 variant of this attack which has waves of 3 rings instead of waves of 2 rings.


DEATH BLOOM



A tricky attack that looks way more complex than it should.

  • Quite hard to explain, but i've drawn red lines to help with understanding the situation. What you have to do is stand next to the projectiles that follow those red lines.
  • The Death Bloom uses a lot of projectiles but those following the lines are the most consistent, which is why you have to follow these particular trajectories. This is the safest place of the attack.
  • In the event where you get cornered when following a line of projectiles, do not be afraid and go follow the one that's right before it!


OBLIVION'S RAIN



This is one of the easier attacks.

  • DO NOT stand above ChaosGod between attacks, as he will launch this one in response to your disrespect.
  • Move left and right if you need to dodge. Never dodge upward as you might get hit by a projectile sooner than anticipated.


METEOR OF REVENGE




This attack is very tricky, but there are ways to counter it.

  • --||This one is not recommended||-- You can circle the sphere while staying very close to it's borders, this can cause it to get very slow and follow you while not hitting walls.
  • You can hug the wall and dash toward the opposite side of the attack. Doing this, you will be able to ignore the sphere's trajectory and focus on the blue projectiles it causes when hitting walls.
  • When the attack ends, dodge the sphere that will be directly targeting you, and stand to the opposite side of the impact. You will then have to go in between the projectiles. Look at the red line drawn on the picture to better understand what you will have to do.

DEVOURERS OF WORLDS



Those snakes are very easy to dodge. Just stand in the upper right corner. That's all.


NOVAE FLOOD



This attack will get denser and denser as you progress throughout the fight.

  • Circle the screen, do not be afraid to stand above of ChaosGod if you really need to dodge upward.
  • Save your dash for situations where you really cannot dodge normally.


GLARE OF ANNIHILATION



SURPRISE ATTACK! Might happen when you reach phase 2, stay on your toes for this one.

  • If possible, dash upward.
  • If not, focus on dodging diagonally or laterally while going up, where the attack gets thinner.


CORE COMPROMISED


So, the abyss stared back but they blinked first. Show them who's the strongest.

  • Follow the red circuit, this is the most optimal way to deal with this attack.
  • Do be wary that you'll also have to take into account portals, just following the circuit won't grant you free access to a no-damage run. You also have to bob and weave between spikes to follow that circuit, which might require being used to it.
  • The other way you can dodge is to stand all the way down and then tapping up to move as you're getting shot at.


SUDDEN OBLITERATION



First and foremost, DO NOT PANIC.
This attack occurs on the first phase transition.

  • My strategy is to stand toward the left of the screen. You need to find a spot that is not covered by the red targets. These are always found right in between three targets.
  • Train yourself to have fast reflexes, there is no easy method around this sudden burst.


COLLIMATORS



"That's a heck of a word to use."
-Nick, master of speedruns.

  • There is a rythm to this attack. Wait for the targets to spawn, then go up, then wait, then go left, then wait, then down, then wait, then right... Repeat until the attack is done.
  • Prepare for the next Sudden Obliteration.


PLANET-SIZED CATASTROPHE



The hardest attack to dodge on this fight.

  • Proceed with extreme caution and try to dodge in a ∞ pattern.
  • NEVER EVER stand in a corner.
  • Do NOT hug the bottom of the screen.


If you're able to do all of that, you might be also able to do it while not taking damage at all! Be prepared for a fight you won't forget though.






PRISONER
And so it descended, in fear of losing it's existence in our world.


DESPERATE BURSTS



One of the easier attacks.

  • Hug the roof and dodge left and right, it's quite generic.


PLEADING COLLUMNS



This one can be surprising.

  • Follow the zig-zag motion of the collumns.
  • Stay in between 2 collumns, try to be near the center when this attack is launched.


DIVINE WAIL



One of the most confusing attacks, there is a trick to it.

  • Try to stay near the center, as the waves of bullet get wider the farther they are from PRISONER
  • Zig-Zagging is now the norm!


BARGAINING SHOTS



Another confusing attack.

  • Try to predict where the red spikes will be. They first spawn next to eachother, then take very destabilizing trajectories
  • In this particular scenario, i've drawn the trajectories of the projectiles and the safe zone for this shot.


ASCENDING CRIES



There are a lot of projectiles but this is actually one of the easiest attacks to dodge.

  • Stay at the top and tap left or right, depending on the farthest wall from you.
  • Do not dash left or right as you will take damage from the left and right spikes. The only spikes you have to fear are the middle ones.


DARKENED WAVES



An harder version of Desperate Burst.

  • Hug the roof and Zig-Zag.


FLOOD OF TEARS



The boss will first target you with a small laser. Be very wary of that sign.

  • Go to the bottom of the screen, on the opposite side of Prisoner
  • There are cases where prisoner will dash toward the other wall and repeat the attack, in such cases you can go under your adversary and go to the opposite side.
  • Worry only about the lateral bullets that Prisoner shoots when executing the burst of projectiles.


LETHAL EMBRACE



If the boss gets in a corner, prepare to dodge that attack.

  • This will require fast reflexes.
  • Be simetrically opposite to Prisoner on the screen, your goal is to be in between the two center tendrils.


LAST PRAYER



DO NOT PANIC.

  • Stay right under Prisoner at all times.
  • Go up, then down, dodge the bullets coming laterally with this motion. Repeat until Prisoner is dead!


If you have finally beaten Prisoner after all of this, CONGRATULATIONS! Not many players are capable of doing what you've done!
MONOLITH
You finally came to the end of it all. This is where you will bleed, this is where you will cry, this is the FINAL BATTLE.

So, quite a lot to unpack here.

PHASE 1 - ASCENSION

CAPITAL PURGER



  • Do not stay in corners
  • Move between the waves as bullets come.
  • Get ready for the last shots, and try to stay as far as possible from their impact zone.


OVERCHARGE



  • Projectiles are shot in 4 waves around monolith. This means there are corners where the bullet density is lower, look for them!
  • In the case where it's impossible to go towards one of these corners, focus on going in between bullets. This is highly difficult, as you need to do micro-movements.


HULL PIERCER


  • If Monolith dashes towards one of the walls and stops moving, get ready to dodge the lasers.
  • When the laser stops, focus on going between two of the bullet lines.


REVOLVING LEVELER


Be very careful when dodging one attack, because Monolith won't wait for the bullets to go away before initializing another one!

  • Only move when it's absolutely necessary.
  • Don't panic, you can stay in a spot where the bullets won't hit you, as long as you follow the wavy motion of the bullets.


AFTERBURNER


  • Let Monolith go down, and dash toward one of the walls when the wind-up sound stops.


VULCAN ENTRAPMENT


  • Pick left or right, then tap toward the direction you've chosen.


PHASING MISSILES

Very tricky attack, be very careful of everything on screen.

  • Be towards the middle of the screen and do not hug walls.
  • Watch EVERY directions.

PHASE 2 - MILLION SOULS

ARSENAL - INCENDIARY


HULL CUTTER


  • If you see Monolith going to one wall, prepare to dodge lasers.
  • This time, get ready to dodge two lines instead of one. Dodging diagonally is primordial here.


REGION PURIFIER


  • Dodge between bullets as the waves come toward you
  • Do not stand in corners.
  • When Monolith shoots fireball, stick to a safe wall and dodge the flames coming toward you. Shoot the ones that are the most likely to hinder you.


OVERHEAT

There is a rythm to this one.

  • This attack will be rotating clockwise.
  • Follow the wall of projectiles, try to be mid-distance from Monolith.
  • Master diagonal dodging, look-out for the sphere projectiles!


ARSENAL - VULCAN TARGETING


LOCK-ON

Way more intimidating than it should be.

  • Same as the lesser variant of this attack, just tap toward one direction.


INVERTED ERUPTION

This one can be very tricky.

  • Get toward the left side of the screen and then continuously go right as bullets come toward you.
  • If you need to stop for a micro-second, do so.
  • If you need to do, micro-dodge left then continue going right.


PHASER TARGETING

Updated and enhanced. More deadly.

  • Stay toward the middle of the screen.
  • Look-out for bullets on every side.
  • Only move if absolutely necessary.


ARSENAL - BULLET HELL


COOLING SYSTEMS

Monolith can go toward you sometimes and begin the attack on top of you. Be ready to dodge it.

  • Stay near the walls.
  • Try to follow Monolith while dodging the projectiles, you don't want him to catch up to you.


OVERWHELM


  • Hug the bottom of the screen, move left and right.
  • If you are not toward the ground, try to hug a nearby boundary.

BULLET CORRIDORS


  • Try to be toward the middle of the screen, then when the lasers shoot go down immediately.
  • Each time blue bullets are appearing, you have to be almost at the center of the screen.

ARSENAL - ANCIENT ARMAMENTS

CIRCUIT GRINDER


  • Go all the way to the left, then start going right if you can.
  • Try to watch which projectiles will bounce off the ground before others. This is very helpful!

MONOSWORD


  • Pick the right or left side, then stay on this part of the screen.
  • Sometimes, corners can help, because the sword's bullets are so large they might be destroyed before hitting you there.

RUNIC PILLARS


  • Try to memorize where the circles are created.
  • Do not stay on the ground.
  • Try to be at mid-distance from the middle and the ground, this will allow for mistakes as you can go down to match the speed of the circle you want to go to.

PHASE 3 - POWER ETERNAL

FLOWER ETERNAL


  • There will be 6 zones where you can't go, stay in between the blue zones and everything should be fine.
  • Be careful of the circle projectiles that will be shot in the "safe" zones.

MONSOON ETERNAL


  • Don't move straight away. Wait for the red wave to come toward you then dash to the opposite side of the attack.
  • Bob and weave between the blue projectiles, try to reach a corner!

STAR ETERNAL

The, in my opinion, hardest attack in the whole game.
  • Be in the opposite corner of Monolith
  • Diagonal dodging is primordial here. Try to advance in between the bullets. Be on the lookout for Red Bullets.


...And a million souls have lost their home


  • Micro-dodge. Stay near Monolith.

If you manage all of that, congratulations. You have finally beaten Star of Providence!
DATABASE
Here you are. Rock Bottom. Something tells you that dwelling here is the last mistake you're going to make.

Man these keyboards are getting harder to use.


DATABASE

Database is probably one of the last challenges a player will meet when going for 100% completion.
Each phase makes it calculate faster, making it's attacks harder and harder to dodge. The real difficulty is not to go through these phases, but to also fight whatever the accursed computer throws at you between it's appearances.



CACHE DELETION


  • Easiest attack, stick to the walls and and circle around Database.
  • -This attack won't get harder then what it is on phase one, just be careful because the walls can entrap you
  • -Try to make the bursts all go into one general way, either cardinal directions or diagonals, but never the center!




WHILE (TRUE){}
  • -Stay alert for this one, it can pop up at anytime.
  • -Try to follow the wall of bullets that's going away from you, don't stick to walls and try to look for a good pathing between the blue spikes


FOR(i = 0; i < Random.Range(0,11); i++;);

  • -Stick to a wall and try to move fast between the waves of bullets
  • -Sometimes Database will fire one wave only, sometimes it'll fire 6 or even 7 times! Try to stay wary, and don't get surprised by another attack!


SYSTEM OVERHEAT

  • -The farther you are in the fight, the more Database will spam this attack.
  • -You want to be in the center between all of the projectiles, to be prepared for the next attack. You don't want to deal with the flames when Database runs the WHILE command.


TARGETED DEBUGGING

  • -Database will run this command multiple times if you're in the later parts of the fight!
  • -Try to be behind each burst as the next one comes, it will be easier to prepare for the other attacks.


XY VECTORIZATION

  • - Try to stay away from the first target of the XY Vector, stick to a wall and look at the bullets that are directly coming towards you
  • -Try to go towards where the center of the attack spawned to not have to deal with the bullets from that attack when another command is made.
