Arras; 1944

During the opening months of World War 1, the French region of Arras was subjected to the dawn of a new era of combat. The introduction of trench warfare, the machine gun, the armored tank and chemical warfare were the harbringers of many attrocities to come.

This map (my first) represents a simlar type of entrenched stalemate - taking place during the height of World War 2.
