Upper Egypt Unit Fix

描述
This little mod changes the following units and gives them 120 men per unit (ultra size):

1. Upper Egyptian Spearmen
2. Upper Egyptian Swordsmen
3. Upper Egyptian Mace-Axe Warriors
4. Upper Egyptian Khopesh Warriors

Reason why I changed them: In vanilla these units have just 90 men per unit, which means they only have the unit size of the average ranged unit and thus having a lot less HP (due to less models) than all the other melee units.
Having less entities per unit wouldn't be a problem if they would have good stats (like Ramesses Medjay) but the Upper Egyptians aren't better than any other units in Egypt on average.

With this little change I made they should be a bit better in a fight and also more viable as a frontline.

No problemo, thoroughly enjoying your bigger battle maps in any case! That's the only mod I'm using pretty much xP

Lower Egypts higher numbers are intended, its even stated on their unit cards. They have worse stats than anything else but make up that weakness by numbers.

Would you also include a fix for the higher numbers of lower egyptian units here? They seem to have the mirror-issue of being overly numerous (spearmen at 160 men compared to standard 120, e.g.)

@Darth Alpharius: The Upper Egyptians have no better stats than for example the Canaanite Sellswords or Kushite Spearmen, while costing the same (or very similar value) in recruitment & upkeep. With 120 men they seem to be pretty balanced compared to their neighbours. Upper Egypt isn't really that much stronger than Lower Egypt when you compare the T3 units of both rosters. Lower Egypt just has worse stats but a really big HP pool, thanks to their increased unit number.

@Haganaz: Population system would honestly be a great thing, but I simply have no idea how to do this. It would probably a good idea if someone, who is interested in this, asks Ganossa for a standalone vanilla compatible version of the population system.

increasing how many units they have make them slightly op since they are actually far stronger then Lower Egypt units thats why they have lower numbers.

If what Hexagoros said is true it's pretty neat! I love pharaoh for all those little things, it definitely is a great game for all those little sparks of granularity!
If only they had added a population system to complement it, it'd go very well with the whole theme & mechanics.

Xanth no incentive in doing a solo population system (for vanilla)? Ganossa (Agony) did it already but teh vanilla experience is still a must-play generally.

The mod should be save to add or remove on campaign, but only newly recruited units will have the changed amount of entities per unit.
All the other units that you or the AI already had before adding the mod will stay at their old values.

Is this mod save game compatible? I just barely won a battle between upper egypt and desert nomads. Only reason i won i sent my chariots behind an mowed them down but lost most infantry and archers who were only at about 30 to 40 units each at start.
THANK YOU!!!

If that would be the case, shouldn't be all the other units in Upper Egypts roster come in smaller unit sizes?
When it comes to cost these four units just massively underperform compared to any other unit with similar cost. There is literally no reason to recruit them in vanilla, when you get better units in other regions.

The vanilla numbers are meant to reflect the disparity in population between Upper and Lower Egypt at the time. Most times history isn't balanced.
