And also, if you use the Ctrl-Shift-Z command mentioned below, but without Ctrl-U, then switching to another Civ will unveil (parts of?) that Civs' territory...
So, hotseat *with* FoW sadly isn't an option here. :-/
Would really have been nice if this 'cheat' would instead open a list of the species in the current match, so it could be used from Turn 1 already...
The hotseat-cheat is '[Ctrl]-[Shift]-Z' .
Used it quite a bit since then, and it works fine (Sometimes you might need to press it twice, or maybe I didn't press it correctly the first time...)
Usage :
0) set the cheat-launchoption as mentioned in the guide
1) select a ship or planet belonging to the species you want to switch to/take control of
2) while keeping that selected, press '[Ctrl]-[Shift]-Z'
3) to make sure it worked, either go to the planets-tab of the civ-manager-screen, or to the shipyard - both should now show the planets/shipdesign of the species you wanted to switch to
4) Done.
but I don't remember the key-combination for it...
As stated in the linked post, you need to find a ship of another specie, select it and then press the related keys - and then you'll be controlling that species instead of your initial one.
(the 'cheat'-parameter should also required for this to work...)
I think there was a problem to this though... the map's 'explored' regions would still stay in the state of what your initial species had explored...
Does somebody remember the necessary keys for this 'fake MP' ?
