This guide contains screenshots and descriptions of all 33 secrets in Avadon 2: The Corruption. Every secret requires you to find a button on one of the walls. Pressing (clicking on) the button opens up the secret area.

I have used Synergizer's Item List[spiderwebforums.ipbhost.com] to find the secrets and to list the loot. I can only take credit for making the screenshots and writing some hints about finding the secrets.

Please note that in many cases you will explore most of a region without having access to all parts of it. A good example is that a quest has to be initiated to access a new part of a map you have already explored, or a new dungeon, and only then can you find the secret in the new part. For this reason the secrets are listed in the order you can obtain them, and not in the order of the areas visited. For example, Ravaged Woods is the area where you begin the game, but the areas with the secrets cannot be entered during this first visit.

Please also note that some secrets are heavily guarded by for example mines and turrets. Enemies are not mentioned in the guide. Generally speaking the more heavily a given secret is guarded the better the loot. Simply return after you have gained a few levels if the defenses are too tough for you.

Prerequisite quests are listed wherever necessary. Also, if something needs to be done at another location to gain access to the secret, it is always marked as such: Location 1 => Location 2.

Secrets are almost always located very close to the button that opens them. The screenshots are taken so that the ingame cursor is on the button.

Secret 1:

In the northern section of the map.



Loot: 39 coins

Secret 2:

To the right of the Headquarters, in the eastern section of the map.



Loot: Group Heal scroll

Secrets 3-5:

Go two levels below Rockridge Keep. The first level can be accessed from the Barracks, the Scout's Quarters, or the Quartermaster. The second level can be accessed from the first level (the stairs down are roughly in the middle). There are three secret buttons right after one another on the western side, allowing you easier access to the Rockridge Deep Storage.







Loot: 426 coins, emerald, fancy toolbelt, ruby, wand of corruption, pulsing runestone distributed between the two chests

Secret 6:

On the second level of the Headquarters, on the southern side, inside the Commander's Quarters (door needs to be picked).



Loot: 69 coins, emeralds, titansteel boots, glowing runestone


Secret 7:

Inside the Abandoned Farmhouse on the west side.



Loot: 54 coins, Buckler of Strength


The two secrets in this area are related to Monitor Yutsua's first two quests, one secret for each, but only the first one can be obtained now, the other one becomes available in the next section. He is in Rockridge Keep, in the southeastern part of the first level of the Headquarters. After you get the first quest from him, the eastern part of the Ravaged Woods becomes accessible.

Secret 8:

In the southernmost building of the Infested Logging Camp on the east side of the Ravaged Woods.



Loot: 7 coins, blessing crystal, lockpick

This part comes after you are sent to the Contested Lands from Avadon for the first time.


Before departing, pick up the quest from Eye Laria (on the west side among the catapults). Then go down to the Dungeon level of Avadon (stairs in the southwest corner).

Secret 9:

On the southern side of the Dungeon, in the Interrogation Hall, next to the "river".



Loot: Potion of Health, Potion of Recovery

Secret 10:

In the northeastern part of the Dungeon.



Loot: nothing (seriously)


You can now get the second quest from Monitor Yutsua (located in the southeastern part of the first level of the Headquarters within Rockridge Keep), after which the northeastern part of the Ravaged Woods becomes accessible. When you are visiting Rockridge Keep, get the location of Blackwood from Hand Esmee (northern part of the Headquarters).

Secret 11:

Inside the Hidden Ogre Lair, which is on the northeastern side of the Ravaged Woods. On the east end of the lair, the button opens up the exit to the area behind the lair.



Loot (on the ogre seer, the nest, and the dead body): 6 coins, battle runestone, wand of ice


Secret 12:

In the southwestern part, to the northeast from the Remote Tower.



Loot: gold bars


Go talk to Commander Odil in Rockridge Keep first. He is in the center of the Headquarters. After that, go to the Trapped Lair area.

Secret 13:

Go to the building with the Hunting the Rebels quest marker. If you have already done this part the building will be marked as "Lair Entrance" and is located roughly in the middle.

After going down through the trapdoor, the button is in the southeastern part. This is a secret where the button is somewhat further away from the hidden area. On the screenshot, part of the team stands in front of the hidden area with the dead body you can loot.



Loot: Steel Breastplate, Iron Greaves

This part comes after you are sent to the Corruption from Avadon for the first time.


For starters, talk to Commander Ophira to open up the Decaying Border area. She is in Monitor Base C, northern part.

Secret 14:

In the northwestern part of the map.



Loot: lockpick, Skystar chainmail


You need to complete the Ibu's Spirit quest before this, to get the necessary location.

Find Wyetta and Ibu in the "West Tower Entrance" building, upstairs. After that, complete the quest, and get the Monitor Base D location. Go there.

Secret 15-16:

I want to avoid at least most of the spoilers, so just follow the main quest, and eventually you will be in a situation where you end up in a cell, with a familiar face occupying the adjacent cell (familiar if you have played the previous game in the series). You can even talk to this person if you want. After that, you can get out of your cell by using the secret button in it. The other secret button is in the adjacent cell, where the familiar face is held. It will be quite some time later before you can get into that cell (you do not have to exit this area before getting there, but quite a few things will happen prior to that).

Loot (after the second secret button): Blessed Runestone

This part comes after you are sent to the Contested Lands from Avadon for the second time.


By the time you have gotten this far you have the companion quest for Alcander available. If you have not initiated his quest, do so in the western part of Avadon. After that, go back to the Decaying Border, and locate Eliades Vault in the northwestern part of the map.

Secret 17:

On the top floor, in the western part (you will not be able to get into that part when you enter, only later, after you have been on the other floors).



Loot: the fact that you can exit this area, nothing else


Secret 18:

Near the end of the level you will fight Hundred Claws. His defeat opens up access to new trapdoors. If you go down the one nearby, you get to fight Drake Dynaress. The secret button is right there where the drake is.



Loot: access to earlier areas, nothing else

This part comes after you are sent to Tawon from Avadon for the first time.


Secret 19:

Pick up Dedrik's quest in Avadon, and follow it until you get to the Stone's Honor Outpost. On the upper level, the button can be found near Monitor Nimah.



Loot: Pact papers, Battle Runestone, Wand of Calling


Secret 20:

When you get to the Fort, locate the stairs down to the cellar in the Hands Hall or the Training Hall, and look for the button roughly in the middle.



Loot: information that you need for Councilor Philana's quest.


Secret 21:

Go to the City Hall in the center, and look for the button in one of the northeastern rooms. The secret opens up in the other northeastern room. Part of the group is standing over there on the screenshot.



Loot: The four chests altogether contain: 519 coins, Glowing Runestone, Deepfang boots

Secret 22:

Go to the Trading Hall in the south, and look for the button in the northeastern room.



Loot: Charm Foe scroll, Group Heal scroll


Secret 23:

Find the stone circle in the north, the button is very close.



Loot: Path opens next to the Bandit Lair to the northeast from here

This part comes after you are sent to the Corruption from Avadon for the second time.

vadymmykh mentioned a secret in the comments that is missing from the guide: "Troezen region, quest for Basilia".


Secret 24:

Visit Vardegras, and get into the room on the northwest part of the lair. This button is actually pointed out to you.



Loot: access to the rest of the lair

Secret 25:

You get to fight with the other individual in the lair. When you are done, a secret corridor has been opened already to the west (it is not counted amongst the 33 secrets in this guide). Follow it and you will find the button at the end of the corridor.



Loot: access to earlier parts of the level

This part comes after you are sent to the Contested Lands from Avadon for the third time.


Secret 26:

In the highest level of Redbeard's chambers. Go there after picking up the third quest from Envoy Dirran (who is in the basement of Avadon).



Loot: Resurrection scroll, Shard of the Phoenix


Secret 27:

After you have concluded your business regarding Konstina, find a metal door you could not open earlier because the wheel for it was on its other side. It is a little west from the middle of the map. There is a route here that you can take to the east, where you will find the button.

This part comes after you are sent to Tawon from Avadon for the second time.


Note that collecting the four secrets in this chapter will have consequences later. Highlight the spoiler below to read. In my opinion, you should skip these secrets.

Pick up Yoshiria's quest in Avadon, and follow it until you get to the Grey Raptor outpost. Go downstairs in the southeastern corner and keep going until they attack you. Clear them out, and then you will have access to the following four buttons.This will result in her being angry with you, and not helping you in the final moments of the game.

Secret 28:

Bottom level, in the area where you face two hounds.



Loot: faster access to the stairs on the other side

Secret 29:

From the previous one, go up the ladder a little ways further ahead, and in the room upstairs.



Loot: access to the room with Opaline

Secret 30:

From the previous one, go to the left, through a door. The secret opens up to the left of Opaline.



Loot: access to the room above

Secret 31:

From the previous one, go up the ladder in the newly opened secret room, and in the room upstairs.



Loot: access to the entrance area

This part comes after you are sent to the Corruption from Avadon for the third time.


Secret 32:

As you are following this chaotic level going up and down on stairs and ladders, you will eventually get to a place where there are two stairs right next to each other, and there are a bunch of Lost Priests of the Core. The button is to the west of the stairs.



Loot: Elixir of Speed, Avenger's Greaves

Secret 33:

The last secret of the game is right before your final fight in The Core, to the west.



Loot in the nest: 43 coins, Wizard's Bow
