Please do the books as soon as you can in multiplayer but leave one just for safety for your single player save if you have not completed 100% that section. This also means to keep one skill point unspent in multiplayer.

If you already picked up a book it will be in your multiplayer skills tab and also will be not on the map obviously.

These books do help with survivability specially since multiplayer has become very much single player often with public matches. If you need assistance can always message me in the comments and I will try to find time to jump on and help. I have another account on my husbands old laptop which family and friends use to play with me which means I can have two characters to help with online multiplayer achievements on.

This guide might change in the future to have a future walkthrough for how to handle multiplayer better if people request it and if I am healthy enough and able.

This game many says is only 10 hours thats for sprint running the main story with some side content, If your trying to get only the achievements then your talking about 180 hours this is due to the trials ...if you want to 100% the game and do everything your talking over 200 hours. Though it is the weakest dead rising I still very much enjoy it when its not being buggy hence why I have bought this game 4 times. First time at launch on PS4 and XBOX one which also came with the Windows PC version if you had xbox logged in. Then I bought it again for steam twice so I could have it on my alt account for friends and family to play with me on it. My alt account has every dead rising game and L4D game on it.


Now, Dead Rising 4 though fun is super buggy like levels of Bugthesda buggy. This game can corrupt your save. I have played this game 8 times now and 6 times without a corrupted save. The 7th playthrough (Steam version first for me) glitched on a manual making me unable to get 100%. Not many people have good saves and every save I found literally was not to the point I was at. Therefore I have made it a mission to make my own save right at the end for anyone having issues as well. If you get the glitch it only affects your character info not your stats. The things to know section details all MAJOR and a few minor game breaking bugs.

Everything you do on your main save will transfer blueprints to the base game and multiplayer which leads to bugs, this goes for anything tagged from the maps you can buy in the stores be it photos, collectables, and blueprints. Do not grab these on multiplayer till you know your solo base game is not bugged. Always do stuff on Frank not the B Cast before you mess in multiplayer. Your levels and such does not transfer between Frank Rising, Capcom Heroes, or Multiplayer just the blueprints and collectables which again keep to the main game first before you touch them in multiplayer or frank rising.

WHY DOES IT HAPPEN: Capcom Vancouver does not exist anymore and they also were jerks with the DENUVO yes that drm the one known for causing issues that the company claims does not. Trust me if you play it without denuvo in offline it would run smoother just like many games that have it run so much better when its removed. The way the game was programed also is a pain. There is a save called profile, this saves constant is auto saving every time you do most things and you are unable to reset it back without a back up save. Therefore when a bug hits and it saves your whole file (over 100 hours by the time you find out) is corrupted.

Now onto the bugs

A) BIGGEST BUG - Magazines
Your magazines can be glitched if you do not grab them proper during each chapter section. If you wait till the end it is very likely you will pick it up in chapter 5 and have it not show up as if you did.

They also can not spawn in proper and you wont be able to grab them on the chapters they are not usually in. This includes new games, reloading chapters and so on. You can counter this by spending one point in multiplayer or picking up a magazine in multiplayer (the multiplayer magazines are only multiplayer btw) If all fails then take a copy of the save at the very end provided once you complete everything else and don't need to use your old save. It uses save slot 4 so hopefully it wont write over your other slots.

B) Blackest Friday Car Launches
So you want to play the unforgiving mode cool one problem.... your car can get damaged even from the air and about 3/10 zombies will make it launch with you. My suggestion don't use cars that are not combo vehicles in any black friday mode unless you have to get through a horde. Even then an exo suit will be safer.

C) Multiplayer Infinite loading screen / Crashes
So this game has major sync issues....if you try to skip cutscenes in multiplayer its a 30% chance of crashing your infinite looping. I tested this on my multiple copies and with others. Happens on every system and launcher just don't skip multiplayer cinematics. This is the same for Mini Golf as well.

D) Frank lost his voice
This happens more often than you want and it happens usually when an explosion goes off but doesnt sound off in the sound. Only way to fix this is close the game and relaunch it. Luckily it is not game breaking and also does not corrupt your save

E) Achievements Popping
Sometimes it does not register or the game fails to tick it off. You can just keep trying for a few more minutes and usually it pops. An example is the Number 1 ball buster I had to have that get done to me with rubber ball before it popped both rubber ball and Number one Ball Buster on my game end. This luckily only really affects the achievements out of the game and not in the game as trials even though many do not use trials it does use the statistics from your game profile save.

F) MINI GOLFING ON THE ROOF
Yes you can glitch into the roof of the mall on the pirate course and no you cant get back down till you shoot through the sky dome. This doesn't break the game just funny to see happen




G) ICONS NOT MARKING
THIS IS A MAJOR ONE FOR COMPLETIONISTS BUT DOESNT AFFECT YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS OR STATS. reason for caps this happened twice to me once on Playstation and once on Steam. If you take a photo of a zombie or pick up a blue print in multiplayer it will transfer to the main game......there is an issue your main game collection map when you buy it from safe houses will not mark it though your trials will and your save profile will. This bug is super annoying but does nothing to affect 100% the game fully counting achievements and the statistics section of the game.

There are many many many more but they are super minor compared to those listed above. This can be from weapons, to hits not registering to your char falling through floors npcs instantly dying when your right there, wall running characters, shelters not opening but when you reload you can just open em again, safe house garage doors not opening and it goes on. Luckily all minor bugs fix themselves or you just reload a checkpoint to fix those.

H) I CANT UNLOCK CLASSIC FRANK!!!!
Classic Frank outfit is from Case 0 of Capcom Heroes but 99% of the time it will not unlock and will be bugged. Only way to fix it is delete the save fully start over do case 0 of Capcom heroes fully and then launch Story Mode and pray it unlocks. There is very minor footage on PS4 and on Xbox of people getting it but even the outfit is glitched and Frank is shoeless.

I replayed the game another time trying to unlock it for the 100% save but sadly this one fn outfit is bugged more than anything. Capcom Did state way back they would patch it back on the DR4 website but nothing ever happened, Capcom Vancouver doesn't excist anymore so no we will never get a patch for it. Thank them putting Denuvo in the game cause that makes it run like crap and also makes it so if you try to mod it in the game gets super wonky,

This will have a listing of what things to do in which order so you do not have the game glitch....if it does glitch choose if you restart or continue and use a save with almost 100% later

You are going to have to do one full playthrough to prep for blackest friday mode which is a pain but if your level 100 you will have no issues.

So yes the main solo single player will have you play it twice in this mode and a third time in capcom heroes.

If you got to here then its time to go suffer in some Multiplayer. Frank Rising, Super Ultra Mini Golf or a third playthrough from level 0 in CAPCOM heroes. Either way its a slog. Remember the provided save at the end of this guide has 100% on everything done but Single player with one missing book and one trial missing,

So you completed the rest and its time to rise from your grave....not to worry this will guide you through the post game.

You will be playing this twice through, Once to get everything done and Zombie Frank to the max level and then a speed run on Blackest Friday.

A) Frank Rises ROUND ONE fight!


B) Frank Rises again ROUND TWO man he's boned

So this one is great....like annoyingly bad. The openings are actually pretty good and the narration of frank and the zombie bob are good until you hear it for the 20th time cause your farming these super drawn out trials. Luckily there are some easy tricks to get much of this done and just abuse the spots you can farm. Downside THIS INCLUDES MULTIPLAYER AND RNG so keep a list of the ball Busters and make sure to beat on each other with love.

Time to replay dead rising 4 main story again but this time no combining or picking anything but food up. Now you change your costumes with time limits at arcade machines littered around the map and no exo suits for you though you can use cars. DO NOT PLAY THIS ON BLACK FRIDAY OR YOU WILL NOT 100% IT

The Adam Clown and Jill Valentine Trials include driving cars and on blackest friday or even hard they explode way too quick. Just play this on normal.

There will be only a few game saves here, one with everything 100% done and one with two things not complete being a book and a trial in normal mode of Dead Rising 4

Notes for the game save,
It shall have all the dlc at 100% completed and multiplayer at 99% completed with skill points ready to buy the final 4 skills in case the book glitches in single player. Story Mode will have all completed but a few items In North Peak

1) Buying the final 2 maps from the North Peak Emergency Shelter
2) Saving one Citizen for the maxed out all shelters
3) The final skill book has not been bought from the vendor in the Emergency Shelter
4)) The following collectables have been left for you to tick them off

All collectables are in 2 spots in North Peak

Zombie tag #100 on first floor of The Peaks Motel under the East stairs with the dumpster

If you are missing 100% this should trigger once you do all that is listed above. I did it like this to help everyone that has gotten a corrupted save file before when playing over a hundred hours.

Before you ask yes I did cheat a little to get the stuff back to what it was. I have played this game 8 times and 7 without cheating. Twice on XBOX One and Twice on PS4 then again a few years later on Windows since I got that for free with my xbox copy and then now twice on steam and going through it again. My 7th time through aka my first time through on steam my game save corrupted after I did all multiplayer, all mini golf, all Capcom heroes, and the book did not trigger on Story mode. This made me annoyed cause I spent over 150 hours on that save to have it be botched.

I also made the multiplayer section of this guide at that point to help myself and those find the books since there was no good one online and was suggested to make a guide when i stated sarcastically helping a few others MAN THE AMOUNT I KNOW OF THIS GAME AND HAVE PLAYED WITH ITS CRAP POPULARITY I SHOULD JUST MAKE A DAMN FULL GUIDE...... then thought of it and was like F IT LETS DO THIS.

This is the special thanks section and sources on what helped me over the years get this information. I will not just state I found all this out myself nor that I did not go in to see what made this game tick cause after my first steam save got corrupted you can bet your butt I went in and watched coding to see what did what.

You can thank DRM for making most trainers not work btw on top of the game cause it actually actively changes its own code much when it launches so it wont be the same address each launch. Props to those that could make even some trainer pieces work. I do condone trainers after you have played numerous times normal specially if your saves corrupt its unacceptable to not have back ups be automatic for this game.

5) Whatever Reddit post that I can not re-find about the issues with skipping cinematics.
Someone stated if you skip the cutscenes in multiplayer or mini golf due to the sync issues it could cause the game to infinitely loop and or crash. This happened 30% of the time and I was able to confirm it multiple times trying with my own two games. It explains a lot when I had these issues on consoles and even on the windows store and now with steam copies im finally happy to state this is true. You just do not skip wait for the super long load and even the waiting for other players and I had 100% success of not crashing with multiplayer matches where none of us skipped the cutscenes unless one of our internet connections cut out (ONE TIME GOD MY HUSBAND LIKES KNOCKING THE ROUTER DOWN)

So I have now played through this on steam 4 times which means I have now played it 8 times through and need to do it the hell again.

THERE ARE MANY MANY MANY GAME CORRUPTING BUGS HERE IS THE ORDER OF HOW TO DO THINGS AND BACK UP YOUR SAVE FOLDER A LOT!

1) Do case 0 of Capcom Heroes
----A KNOWN BUG THAT CAPCOM CLAIMED THEY WOULD PATCH WHICH NEVER HAPPENED....If you do not do capcom heroes first and play through Case 0.... you will not unlock Classic Frank for your main game. Any main game of story mode made prior to completing case 0 does not get it.

2) STORY MODE AFTER THAT - Do not spend any Skill points nor play multiplayer.....
---Multiplayer you can accidentally pick up blueprints, take pictures of zombie tags, even sometimes find cell phones....These will bug out single player....Also single player will not count books if you get too many points spent so play normal first and spend the points after you buy all the books and pick up all the books. If not your frank will never be 100% with all skills and buffs.

3) Multiplayer Books next -
Multiplayer has its own set of books. They will glitch just like in story mode if you level up your character and spend points too quick. The glitch happens about 2 out of every 10 times I have leveled up that profile

4) FRANK RISING WARNING! - Make constant back ups every half hour!
This can bug and destroy your save making you crash just trying to play in story mode and any mode. This happens when it crashes trying to save in Frank Rising. This was common on the PS4 Pro and did have it happen once on windows but we shall see if it happens on steam.

In the game saves folder you will see many text...below it explains what each of the Dead Rising 4 Save file naming system refers to.

UD4S.DLC4.Profile#PlayerStats - If its tis time of name with a number 0 to 3 that referrs to your main profile level and stats
-----------------------------------------This is for all games in that save slot which is why game breaking bugs that corrupt a save is annoying
-----------------------------------------This is your levels and blueprints and statistics for the whole file so franks level in story mode, in frank
-----------------------------------------rising, in Capcom Heroes, in multiplayer, all the Trials, all the info, your wardrobe unlocks ect,
US4S.DLC4Normal# (anything) - It states what it is for capcom heroes in that profile Slot. An example if it says normal3-1 thats save slots 4's

D4S.Profile# [info] - D4S means dead rising save, Profile0 means save slot 1 profile1 means save slot 2 and so on.

pp_0 to pp_49 is your photos you took with Franks camera They will overwrite with the oldest one once you hit the 50 files every time you take a photo
