You also need to use proton tricks to install the following dll's

d3dx9, d3dcompiler_42, d3dcompiler_43, d3dcompiler_46, d3dcompiler_47, d3dx10_43, d3dx11_42, d3dx11_43

Installed dll frameworks: d3dcompiler_43 d3dcompiler_47 d3dx11_43 d3dx9_43 d3dx9 d3dx10

Just did this along with the latest proton G-E and works like a charm

phew I found a way and a problem why it didn't start, you need to install all DirectX DLLs and Microsoft Visual via Proton Trix starting from 2017

Hmm being on OLED shouldn't effect this as its more of a software thing. I'm currently on the pre-release branch and up to date on latest version of steam OS. I installed this again a week or so ago to play on my flight and didn't run into any issues. Hope you get it working.

This unfortunately doesn't work for me. I've tried so many different versions of proton, and nothing works. I've got the OLED SD, so unsure if that matters.

if you can run the game up to the point where it says “Your video card doesn’t meet game requirements. Try to lower game settings.” then your all good. Then change comparability version properties and reboot and should work just fine.

Basically you want the direct x to install. Sometimes I had to reboot my steam deck a few times to get it working on mine. Sometimes I had to change proton version to one of the older steam deck version in comparability mode for example V7 to make this happen.When that's installed then change to the GE proton version. One thing iv found with games not launch correctly on steam deck after installation i just have to reboot. Even on games that dont need GE.

Howdy, I've done my best to follow these instruction for my steam deck and I've gotten the game to open but it stays stuck on the start up screen where it says "stalker call of pripyat" and it doesn't change or do anything even if I've sat there for 20+ minutes.
