I have actually recorded a rather intense crash test to show a friend, but I haven't posted it. I was flying in that forward 90 degree angle, and intentionally clipped the ground. It basically bounced off a few times with very little change to my trajectory. It was only once I collided with the ground at less than a 90 degree angle that I lost control and ended upside down. The landing thrusters didn't quite have the power to launch on their own. However, in conjunction with some of the directional thrusters, I was able to slide for a bit and ended up on its side. From there, it was easy to correct the position, and successfully launch.
It would be neat to improve the landing thrusters to be able to launch on their own, but I think I would struggle to find space for an additional 2-4 without changing the design.
