MXL 大金门Great Golden Gate

大金门是世界文化遗产、全国重点文物保护单位南京明孝陵外红墙的正门,位于陵区东南,门南向,两旁红墙围合着整个陵区,“沿山周围缭垣”,除了大金门之外,还开有王门、西红门、后红门、东西黑门等,现地面已无遗迹。

明孝陵大金门始建于明永乐九年(1411年),在明代前期的文献中,大金门的名称为孝陵门、红券门、正红门、大红门等,在明末崇祯十四年(1641年)的禁约碑中,最早出现“大金门”的说法,在之后的游记或者地方志文献中便一直沿用大金门的名称。

大金门南向,平面呈长方形,面阔约26.66米,进深约8.09米;现总高约9米,为砖拱券结构。

Great Golden Gate(Da Jin Men,大金门) is the main gate of the red wall outside the Nanjing Mingxiao Mausoleum, a world cultural heritage and national key cultural relics protection unit, located in the southeast of the mausoleum area, the gate is south-facing, and the red walls on both sides surround the entire mausoleum area, "along the mountain around the wall", in addition to the Great Golden Gate, there are also the royal gate, the west red gate, the back red gate, the east and west black gate, etc., and there are no relics on the ground.

The Great Golden Gate of the Ming Xiaoling Tomb was built in the ninth year of the Ming Yongle (永乐九年,1411), in the documents of the early Ming Dynasty, the name of the Great Golden Gate was Xiaoling Gate, Red Gate, Zhenghong Gate, Great Red Gate, etc., in the forbidden monument of the 14th year of Chongzhen (崇祯十四年,1641) at the end of the Ming Dynasty, the earliest saying of "Great Golden Gate" appeared, and the name of the Great Golden Gate has been used in subsequent travelogues or local chronicle documents.

The Great Golden Gate is facing south, rectangular in plan, with a width of about 26.66 meters and a depth of about 8.09 meters; It is now about 9 meters high and has a brick arch structure.
