- Peak bar is always the last 10%
- The confidence bar is impacted by RE/Driver affinity and driver morale, both have the same effect
- Driver confidence will impact Cornering, Braking, Accuracy, Overtaking and Defending, in that order (meaning bonuses will first impact Cornering then Braking, etc.)
- 68% is the max starting confidence you can get with max preparation
- With max morale and affinity it will give +4 to all aforementioned attributes
- A driver with max prep, max affinity but no morale at all will still get a High starting driver confidence which gives +3 Cor, Brk, Acc and +2 Ovt, Def
- Being at 0% driver confidence gives -4 to all aforementioned attributes
- Being at 100% driver confidence gives +8 to all aforementioned attributes
I did a quick test and you can sign him with 1.4M$ per year BUT with a signing bonus of 150k$, and if you decrease the signing bonus to 100k$ he won’t accept less than 1.49M$. 1.4M salary+150k bonus is more interesting as long as you sign him for at least 2 seasons.
I assume race bonuses also factor in and it would become very interesting IF the presence of race bonuses allow us to offer much lower salaries, but I have to test that.
Finally, on retiring cars in lap 1 that’s what I’m doing with Pourchaire now, Tsunoda has been behaving himself pretty well so I keep letting him race, especially since I tend to be able to score points on merit and have to keep Haas, McLaren and Williams in check (if I don’t get to score points, they might).
By chance I came across 2 people, one saying Bottas was 20mil for him and the other said that Pourchair was 1.5 mil for him. I play with alfa, so I had to extend bottas contract - for 20 mil and I did get Pourchair as rookie for 1.5 mil. So maybe - just maybe - those numbers are static after all?
One of the cheapest staff so far I've found is actually the Red-Bull Goat Sporting Director Jonathan Wheatly - got him for 1.3 mil - best in the game and only 300k more expensive then my super crappy Alfa romeo guy.
And because of those crashes that cost a lot: season 1, once you have the points needed to achieve the season objective - retire both cars in lap 1 - saves time and money.
Now, I don't know for staff (I still have to test their impact on things) but when it comes to drivers, depending on how much they cost it might be beneficial to go along with it and pay whatever they want because as it stands taking on a F2 driver or a less experienced F1 driver might cost you more in parts than the salary of an experienced driver who can hold his shit together, you must have noticed that especially if you are playing Williams, McLaren or AlphaTauri, their respective rookie drivers seem to crash, a lot.
