The morale bonus calculation for combat is implemented very simple (probably a bug).
1) If the game see that someone who is hated by the evaluated merc, the merc get -1 AP. Relationship evaluation for the merc stops.
2) If there is no hate, it look if there is love, if it finds a love the merc gets +1 AP. Evaluation stops.
You can test it if you make a new game and hire Grizzly, Fox and Wolf. All get +1.
If you hire the same 3 and Steroid, Fox has suddenly -1.
