The guide describes many references and easter eggs. Half of them are references to Raw Fury and Brainwash and separately to their games:




Raw Fury is an independent video game publisher based in Stockholm, Sweden. They specialize in publishing indie games that are innovative, original, and artistic. They call themselves an “UnPublisher” because they aim to support developers by providing them with creative freedom, fair deals, and respectful collaboration. Some of the games they have published include Kingdom, Kathy Rain, Dandara, Bad North, Night Call, and Star Renegades. Raw Fury is publisher for those Brainwash Gang games: The Longest Road on Earth and Friends vs Friends. You can learn more about them on their official website, their Wikipedia page, or their Steam page.




Brainwash Gang, the indie video game developer based in Madrid, Spain. They are a small team of artists, programmers, and designers who share a passion for creating games that are experimental, original, and artistic. They have a unique and distinctive art style that combines pixel art, hand-drawn animation, and surreal imagery.

They create Friends vs Friends! Also, their games: Nongunz, The Longest Road on Earth, Grotto, Laika: Aged Through Blood, Hold A to Drift, Marmitta, Mother of Many, It's Either Them or Us and Damnview: Built From Nothing.

Damnview: Built From Nothing is a simulation sandbox game that explores the themes of despair, capitalism, and social class differences in a modern urban setting. You play as an anthropomorphic animal who has to survive and find their place in a hostile and decadent city, where your choices and actions will shape the world around you. You can work different jobs, interact with other characters, explore the city, and discover its secrets. After the Sindiecate incident, the development of the game was freezed. The Damnview really looks very cool and in FVF we will see more than one reference to this game.

Lobby map where you can walk if you press “Esc” (clarify just in case). On the map you can do everything that you can do in the menu: find games, manage decks, track quests, change characters and shop.



Near the Baba’s Laundromat in the window of the Pixel Vision store, each TV plays videos. All of these videos are references to Brainwash Gang and their games.

This is a reference to video THE BRAINWASH PROPAGANDA (YouTube) where Beícoli (Twitter) (Spotify) showing information about the Brainwash Gang's games. I recommend watching the original video on YouTube. They show an early version of the FVF game - Friends Killing Friends.



This is a reference to game trailer The Longest Road on Earth (Steam).



This is a reference to the game Marmitta (Itch Io).

Ivan Papiol is a Concept & 2D Artist from Barcelona, Spain. He is a member of the Brainwash Gang and an occasional Concept artist at Deconstructeam. He has 6 years of indie game industry experience and has worked on games such as Grotto, Laika: Aged Through Blood, Friends VS Friends, The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood and more.

His mascot is a mushroom. He comes across in various places in the game.

The main references on this map are billboards. I found an earlier “Friends vs Friends” video and there were other billboards that referred to other studio games or artists' work. I could break it down in more detail if I had the opportunity to play those versions of the game.

Also, it is important to emphasize that this level used to be the lobby of the game. Therefore, it should be considered that this is one of the most detailed level.

There aren't that many references at this level. I only found a reference to the Brainwash Gang which is part of the movable barriers on the scene.




There are also a lot of cool art deco posters in the level, but I don't know what they might be references to. I cannot but say that their author is POISONP1NK. Very cool work!

What can be the most interesting thing here? Well-known road billboards. I'm sure you wanted to check them out, plus it's a great job by ToxicP1nk:










There are also two billboards that I found in the textures but didn't find them on the map:




The last looks strange and incomplete. Because this is a copy from Ivan's concept art, which he posted on Twitter X October 14, 2021. Here we see that the map has almost not changed since that moment. And the billboard from the concept is still there (in game files). And also the road sign with reference to Damnview:






The latest billboards, which unfortunately are not in the game, were shown on Twitter by Toxicp1nk. It's a pity about the last one, because "Guzman Firm" refers to an ad from a "Better Call Saul" tv series (I love Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul):




Time to stop ignoring the elephant in the room. The huge white Raw Fury lettering on the truck is impossible to miss. It is also the same truck that can be seen on the other side of the road on Buddy's Boulevard:




Also, I'm sure that there are references numbers on license plates on the map. But I have no idea how to decipher them.

The only sign I was able to partially decipher was this: FKF - Friends Killing Friends (the old name of the game) and BG - Brainwash Gang:

Nukes the entire map, moving all players to a different map. Each use of this card, regardless of which player uses it, will have a different effect depending on the number of uses:






On first use, Nuke destroys the former map and moves the player to the Wasteland, a new arena. This map is perfect for classic maps, because the map unites their ruins: around the highway and broken skyscrapers, and a subway train sticks out from the ground (the Theater is a closed map, so it is possible to assume that the theater is on the first floors of the skyscraper). At the same time, the new Island map is in the middle of the ocean and moving to the Wasteland after using the card looks strange.








On second use, Nuke destroys the already destroyed map and spawns the players on Asteroid (not Moon like Wiki said. In game files textures for this location named "Asteroid"). In this map gravity is lower, players move slower, and jump way higher.






Around the main asteroid, where players spawn, you can find another smaller asteroids and ice cream track. If you jump on it, you will get “Galaxy Gelato” achievement.






On third use, Nuke destroys the Asteroid, and players appear in The Simulation, an empty white area where there is no place to hide.






On fourth use, all players die and the match ends in a draw (both sides have won).

First map released after the game release. Since the map is very small and lacking in detail, there isn't much to see here, except:


The Easter egg with one of the community members called "Snake boy" (Twitter) marked into the rock with the skeleton laying right next to it with a treasure chest.




The second secret is connected with the radio. Under the umbrella, next to the second skeleton, there is a radio. Only noise comes out of it. If you shoot at the radio, it will start playing Beícoli - Moonlight (Spotify). This is music from the game Hold A to drift (Itch Io).

The new map is awesome: huge, spacious, multi-level. It also continues the "lore" of The Trucks map, and expands the Friends vs Friends lore by combining its universe with the Laika universe
( Brainwash Gang wants to unite all its games in one universe ) .

FKF-141 boxes. There are a lot of them on the level. FKF - Friends Killing Friends. Maybe there are guns inside these boxes?




Arcade machine. One of the interesting things on the map. The arcade machine has its own HP and can be hacked. It refers to the game Nongunz.






Gasoline. Another interactive thing is a puddle of gasoline. If you shoot at it, it will catch fire. I just love details like that. More like that!



Laika: Aged Through Blood. The most interesting thing is that there are a lot of new posters on the map. These are references to the game Laika: Aged Through Blood, which connects the universes of both games.










And the Fossil Gas Station itself is a reference to Laika, where you can find Fossil gas stations. Please give Connie our best wishes!








Unfortunately, in the game hasn't been added Ukrainian yet, so I'll wait to buy the Laika for now.

This guide is like a declaration of love for the game (Now you know why heart on guide icon). I was interested in the visual style, engaged in the gameplay and impressed with the content of the game.
