Hello, and again, welcome to the Aperture Science Computer Aided Golf Course. We hope your brief detention in the nursing home has been a pleasant one. Your golf cart has been processed, and we are now ready to begin the course proper.

9-hole course featuring chambers 00-08, including a peek behind the walls of Aperture Science...

I recommend increasing max shots (mostly due to the last hole!). Mostly just recreations of the original chambers from Portal. All chambers have been made possible!

Screenshots are slightly out-of-date, but serve their purpose well enough imo

most holes would be stuff already in the game (like putting the ball into the antimass spectrometer where the crystal would go. blast pit and on a rail would have you putt the ball into the blast pit and rocket pit respectively). office complex has the lightning cloud from forest as the broken light that zaps the headcrabs. apprehension would be the trash compactor and would have the elevator floors as the walls of the compactor with you putting the ball into the grate. residue processing would feature water and the rotating cup things from forest (used in portal as the fan in the behind aperture part) as the industrial rollers gordon swims through. surface tension would have a minefield section using mines from worms, with you putting the ball into the storm drain. lambda core would be putting the ball into the teleporter to xen. only office complex and "we've got hostiles" would have a traditional hole to putt the ball into (conveniently also the only maps that have tiled floors)

lol okay maybe i shouldn't have tried to tackle this while preparing to move. forgot just how terrible the level editor is. i did finish rough drafts of the first two holes: the anti-mass spectrometer and the opening part of office complex. no gameplay tests yet, and i'm sure there will be a lot more flaws than the portal map given what i have to work with to recreate these environments.

oh well, i'm willing to share what i've got if anyone asks. i planned a 9-hole course based directly off of the in-game maps of half-life featuring different chapters. in order: anomalous materials, office complex, "we've got hostiles", blast pit, on a rail, apprehension, residue processing, surface tension, lambda core. definitely a lot more ambitious than portal

been rereading these comments and feeling fuzzy about the warm reception that i figured i may try and do another course... this time on Half-Life 1. no ideas when or if it'll come out, i make no promises... but i'm interested in giving it a go

i've currently given it a cheap fix of having the tube be the finishing hole until i have time to look into it further. for whatever reason, the game is counting the tube as out of bounds for me (which it by no means should. the ball never comes to a rest inside the tube, all out of bounds markers do not come close to overlapping the tube, and the tubes are a course feature used in the space station level) which might indicate further issues with that part and might not even be something i can fix without drastically altering the course. i'm sorry for the trouble!

the end of hole 9 bugs out. I found the right tube, followed it with free cam, and when my ball gets to the same point it gets thrown through the floor and I have to retake the shot until I stroke out.:steamthumbsdown:
