Maybe, maybe not.

The lead developer of Fables was kind enough to fix this on their side. So this should no longer be an issue after the next update of Fables is released.

would decompiling be out of question? theres the extract mod, which you can use to then inspect the dll

You are right - I managed to reproduce that. However I can't find the source code of Calamity Fables, so it would be hard to fix it. I'll try asking in their Discord.
