Intro

I'm just going to be jotting down notes here. Feel free to comment with any corrections or interesting trivia. I loved the first game and am excited to play more. Hopefully this might help people via collaboration. Watch out for spoilers.

Assorted Achievements
Zoomorphic - Reach Level 2
Polymorphic - Reach Level 3
Xenomorphic - Reach Level 4
Infinite Improbability - I received a beach towel in the mail. This towel, if you leave it instead of selling it, will cause you to be abducted by well-meaning aliens who tear the towel to shreds. Reference to the Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy I believe.
Big Crunch - Complete all three jobs on your board in one day
Neodog - Accept the BMO type device from the crazy man. He gives you the device regardless. Not sure if saying no also gives you the achievement.
Star Person - Receive a call from the celebrity
Metamorphisis - Unsure.
Convergence - Chat with the AI and the Ham Bone.
Neutron - Receive a neutral rating in a completed game from the BMO type device.
Electron - Receive a negative rating in a completed game from the BMO type device.
Chain Reaction - Take advantage of a discount sent to you via email.
Fabric of Spacetime - Rat out graveyard man
Brown Dwarf - First you need to receive the "hungry waffle" gift in the mail. Next leave him overnight and he'll eat some of your food.
Futuristic Manifesto - Film the graffiti artist and send their video in.
Lore Notes
Earth Debt - Every Earthling is apparently to pay a share of the Earth Debt. Perhaps we are enslaved by the lizard people, or just really crummy debtors.

If you don't pay your debt, a hired goon will come to imprison you.
He is also seen on the third day you miss a payment behind the two bean-counters.

"Hired Goons?"
Cage #1 - Psychologist
This monkey is a psychologist. Specifically a hypnotherapist. Dr. Amelia Hayes got into psychology via hypnotherapy due to low cost. At some point in the future, it turned from quackery into legitimate mental science and she is now relatively famous and well-paid. She is notable enough that Ruby Belle's manager has personally hired Hayes to treat Belle.

She interacts with two people in her cage. One off-screen is a former patient with anger issues, who is despondent as she has cancelled his appointments to work exclusively with her new patient. On-screen, Ruby Belle comes in for sessions once a day. It starts with Belle entering an hour late, leaving the door open and sitting on the couch. Hayes will close the door and try to talk to Belle about a book. After some discussion, Belle will eventually insult Hayes several times. Hayes snaps and uses her hypnotherapy to attempt to understand Belle better. After this fails, she makes Belle dance like a chicken for a short time, before releasing her from hypnosis. Belle leaves shortly after, confused.

Bubble 1 - Ruby Belle

The first set of info relates to Ruby Belle's identity and her competition she is holding.

  • Ruby Challenge - Ruby's challenge to her fans. You're asked to guess her favourite book to receive a phone call from her. It was likely written by her manager.
  • emotional instability - a newspaper notes her mental and legal issues
  • celebrity - Ruby Belle is a famous celebrity
  • contest - Ruby Belle is holding a contest

Bubble 2 - The Little Prince/The Divine Comedy/Frankenstein

The second set of info relates to famous books, eventually relating to the competition mentioned in the first book. For reference the books are:

  1. The Little Prince - a novella written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry that was released in 1943. It's about a pilot and his conversations with a young Prince. Antoine de Saint-Exupéry was a French pilot who flew recon missions for the Free French Air Force during World War 2. It was banned on release in Nazi occupied Vichy France. He died in 1944, but after WW2 the book became incredibly popular, becoming the second most translated book in the world with over 500 translations, only surpassed by the Bible.
  2. The Divine Comedy - a narrative poem by Italian poet Dante Alighieri completed in 1321. Originally titled Comedia (Comedy) it's divided into three parts, the most famous is Inferno, followed by Purgatory and Paradise/Heaven. A man, also called Dante, is being guided through Hell and Purgatory towards Heaven, in a literal sense. Metaphorically it's about enduring or rejecting sin to embrace God. Dante Alighieri also died shortly after it's completion on 14 September 1321.
  3. Frankenstein - Frankenstein is a novel released in 1818 by Mary Shelley. It's full title or alternative title is "Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus". In 1816, Shelley was visiting Lord Byron with her step-sister and husband, and along with Byron's physician, was challenged to write a ghost story. Despite Frankenstein not being a ghost story, Shelley won. Shelley was only 18 at the time. The novel is firstly a framing device from the character of Captain Walton, student Doctor Victor Frankenstein and his creature, commonly referred to as Frankenstein, son of Frankenstein or Frankenstein's monster by pricks. The book itself is different from the pop-culture version of the events, which are taken more from the Boris Karloff film.

  • desert - The pilot crashes his plane in the Sahara Desert.
  • pilot - A pilot in this case is someone who flies planes, specifically a WW1 era biplane.
  • boy - The Little Prince, as denoted by his name, is a young male.
  • animals - The pilot draws and discusses various animals with The Little Prince who in turn tells stories of animals he has seen.
  • hat - The pilot has drawn a picture of a boa constrictor who has eaten an elephant. When adults see this drawing, they refer to it as a hat, to the pilot's dismay.
  • book - The Little Prince is a book, specifically a novella.
  • monster - possibly a red herring, to make you think that the book Belle likes is actually Frankenstein.
  • heaven - another red herring, designed to make you think of Dante's Heaven.

Bubble 3 - Hypnosis

  • Therapy - The reason for the scenes in the office, Belle is trying to receive therapy from Hayes, but due to her unwillingness to care, is receiving no results.
  • divan - a divan is a stereotypical piece of furniture for therapists. A couch or lounge designed for the patient to lie down while talking to the therapist. This stereotype came from Sigmund Freud, who owned and used such a divan in his practice after he was given it as a gift from a patient.
  • trance - When a creature in hypnosis falls under the control of another, becoming susceptible to the master's commands.
  • Powehi - a Hawaiian word meaning "the adorned fathomless dark creation". Was used as the name for the Messier 87 black hole that became famous when it became the first black hole to be imaged in 2017-2018. Hayes uses this as her trigger word for Belle's hypnosis.
  • diploma - to become a psychologist, you must become accredited by some form of tertiary education. Hayes has at least one on her wall, one that at the time was not particularly expensive or prestigious.
  • psychologist - a psychologist studies and discusses mental states, perceptual, cognitive, emotional, and social processes and behavior. Normally this is in the form of talking with patients and suggesting coping methods. It is different from a psychiatrist in that psychiatrists can prescribe medications, psychologists cannot. Hayes is a psychologist, trained in hypnotherapy, which is currently quackery.

Bubble 4
  • Dr Amelia Hayes @ameliahayes - Haye's name and contact information.

Closing the case.

If you figure out Ruby Belle's favourite book, The Little Prince, for the Ruby Challenge the case is closed.

This leads to a phone call with Ruby Belle. You can converse with her and trigger her hypnotised state. From there you can ask her about her traumatic childhood, tell her that "Powehi" will no longer have power over her or ask for her most ridiculous moment.

  1. "So far, so good." She reveals that she was traumatised at some point in her childhood.
  2. You can remove the hypnotherapists trigger word from having power over her.
  3. She reveals that she is controlled in every facet by her manager and agent and has no real choices in the minutae of her life.

Completing the phone call from her gets you the achievement "Star Person". The next day, she is revealed to have died and you receive a copy of "The Little Prince", signed and kissed by her. Despite being signed and biologically tainted by a recently deceased celebrity, you only get 120 future bucks.

Even if you don't cure her, the case will close.

You can record her while under the influence of hypnosis clucking like a chicken. Her career is ruined and so is the psychologist's, also ending the case.
Cage #2 - Assembly Line
Single-camera, non-interactable cage.

An assembly line creating an unknown device. Towards the left of the screen, another device is constructed and dismantled or sent down another conveyor on the left of the screen.

Inactive conveyor. At night time the assembly line is stopped.

An eyeball has been constructed. It is sent off-screen to the left.
Cage #3 - Satellite
Single-camera, interactable cage.

Satellite with odd, homemade third party addons.
By searching the info in order, you'll find the Guardians of the Vortex website and be able to contact it's leader.

Can complete by revealing the name of the conspiracy hotline operator to your superiors. He will go missing and the case will be solved.

Despite the fact that there's an option to attempt to destroy the satellite, I haven't found out how to destroy it. The three default options do nothing except restrict access and leaving the time to run out when selecting, selects a random option of those three. I feel that something needs to happen while communication is interrupted, but I am unsure beyond that.

Cage #4 - Lizard Office
Un-interactable.

A lizard man works at his computer, typing something illegible. He has an electronic pot plant, an electric paper tray, a coffee mug, a cigarette, a future telephone and a big ass webcam.
He arrives at 08:00, fresh as a daisy for his white-collar job.

The Office, inactive and active.
Cage #5 - Seer
Lusty Sorceress + Writer to get the publisher's number.
Use that to get the writer's name.
Give it to the Sorceress to finish the case.
She pretends to get a vision and doxes the pervert on stream. Clever that she waited an hour to ensure he was right on time. Relatively harmless prank on him considering what was happening.

Tee hee.

Fortune telling license + guild to get to the psychics guild, who are in the same building as Kassandra the Soothsayer and trying to muscle in on her territory.

You can use the information about the guild to call Kassandra during her show and goad her into insulting her listeners and the guild or alternatively covertly ask her for a bribe. Either way, the case will be closed from this point. Kassandra abandons her space, leaving her furniture and an askew mat.
Cage #6 - Desert
A pristine desert in an unknown location is later improved by adding giant smokestacks.

These smokestacks are actually terraforming in action. The desert transforms into a savannah and later into a jungle.

At the end the terraforming is completed successfully.

The planet is known as Claw6, owned by Claw Energy Drinks.

There is now a city there, bustling with activity.
Cage #7 - "Bootlegger"
A man is making moonshine in his bathroom.

He's contactable on his chat after 22:00 or so.

Eventually after gaining info about his name, you receive an e-mail asking for this information, after which the case is delayed.

When it returns, you can contact the brewer via chat and ask him for his address to send him an ingredient.

Despite the three X's (XXX) symbolising the amount of times moonshine has been distilled, what he was actually making was beer apparently. I sent him chili and he was happy with the result. Sounds like an interesting beverage, although a moonshine with the added power of chili sounds interesting. After this the case is solved.
Cage #8 - Smart House
A man is arguing with his sentient kitchen appliance. His toast becomes burned, his microwave explodes and eventually he removes the machinery and replaces his microwave. He will continue to use his kitchen as normal after this case is closed at this point, but no further interaction is possible.

By getting clues during conversations, then messaging the occupant and his AI, you can get the AI's model number. The name of the human's team is the password. The mood determines what the outcome will be. I accidentally selected the nice option instead of aggressive, which make the AI friendly.

If you set it to aggressive the house will be flooded, the lights will be broken, the coffee machine, toaster and microwave will be broken, the laptop will be open and submerged.
Cage #9 - Conveyor
Non-interactable.

A rolling conveyor belt occasionally triggers the movement alert for an x-ray. Often the items contained are weird, dangerous, weirdly dangerous or dangerously weird. Items never stop, they just continue from right to left.

Conveyor with nothing on it.

Item #1 - Perhaps a cyborg eyeball as seen on the assembly line in a briefcase?

Some sort of birdcage?

Suitcase with booze and jam.
Cage #10 - Science Experiment
non-interactable.

A computer and two capsules on a desk. Possibly for cloning or teleportation.

Scientists puts a raw chicken and some sort of waffle creature into the orange machine. Out of it comes a burrito.
Scientist adds red jelly to orange machine. The machine flashes red and fails. The scientist checks both capsules and removes nothing.
Didn't catch the start, but the scientists retrieved a burned waffle man from the blue capsule.
Scientist retrieved a burned chicken from the blue capsule.

The scientist with blue hair and a ponytail comes in and starts the machines. Retrieving a plate of red jelly, they place it into the left orange machine. After some effort and sparking, the machine flashes a red light. The scientist comes back and removes the plate, the jelly is gone.

After a week, whatever the scientist is doing is succeeding. They receive deconstituted jelly from the blue capsule.

After another, created life.
Cage #11 - B2Bot

Initial Notes.

A human (presumably named "Guy Incognito") is attempting to get a job or something with robots, being interviewed by a robot.

Another pink robot is interviewed.

Possibly an inversion of a reference to Blade Runner.

You can record the pink robots correct answer for the "false" robot and message them online via their handle and the company.

Characters

  1. Janet - Pink Robot
  2. Proctor -
  3. "robot" -

Interactable Items

  1. B2Bot - Click on the words "B2Bot" on the B2Bot logo to acquire. Searching it leads to a Honews article from three years ago about the company B2Bot acquiring an advertising contract for "robosports" events.

  2. False serial code

Cage #12 - Android
Single-camera, interactable cage. No time limit.

Robot workshop either for creating or dismantling androids. Has or had a sister.
Has a dialing machine.
Goes out looking for android parts at night, despite the apparently danger or illegality.
Garbage can fills up with Hoo bars.
Claims there's "nothing normal about us" to the android, indicating either a delusional or depressed human or a self-aware android.
Has a robotic arm, but may be only a cyborg.

Could be a reference to Full Metal Alchemist, which featured a brother's physical body inside a robot and his older brother with a robot arm.

Female engineer talks to inactive android. Loves candy. Hoo! bars.

She has left her planet and then returned at some point.

The brown robot in the corner is still active in some way.

Grey head of robot in corner's red eyes flicker.

Creating a robot for the purposes of evading robot strikes, essentially a scab.

If you give the planet they are on to the society, she and the android are taken in the dead of night.

If you call her and ask her about her sister three times, she will grab and remove the camera and you will fail the case.

If you call her and ask her about her hideaway multiple times, she'll do the same.

Cage #13 - Van
At night a van parks in front of an abandoned building. At 6AM it drives away.
The graffiti on the building is slowly being created.
After you unlock night vision, you can scan the business logo on the truck and it eventually leads you to the perp. If you report her, she doesn't finish the graffiti and the case is closed.
Cage #14 - Prisoner's Dilemma
Two-camera cage

Alien and human prisoner.

Camera one shows the doorways of two cells and two security cameras pointed at those doors.
The left door is a green alien, the right door is a bearded human. Both are convicted criminals.

Second camera is from inside a security room. It contains a red button, CCTV monitors and a window looking out into what is a lunch room or waiting room.

At 15:00, a silohuette of a guard appears on camera one. He opens the door and the prisoners move into the room seen through the window in camera two.

A guard with furry ears arrives in the booth on camera 2 at 22:00.

You can send him a video tape from the catalogue which he will watch instead of the cameras.
On camera one with night vision you can see lasers are active.
According to the prisoners, there's a wailing noise at night and according to an article, this is the system rebooting. I would assume the lasers are meant to turn off at a specific time.

You get that time from the camera feed and send it and the name of their boss into the music channel. For me, the lasers turned off at 02:00.
Cage #15 - Cityscape
Cityscape

Cyberpunk influenced city, orange sky, neon lights with unrecognisable script.

as revealed in a newspaper article, the city is called "nexus"
Cage #16 - Graveyard
Scan the grave and the flower for information on the victim.
At night, her widowed husband visits her, however society thinks he is also dead.
Scan his clothes for a rundown on his style, his words will reveal his motives, leading you to a tailor you can call.

If you report Dirk Black is alive to the Seamstress, you get an achievement and a case suspended.

If you do nothing, he is eventually caught and the newspaper labels him a serial killer.
Cage #17 - Animal Habitat
Un-interactable as far as I can tell, unfortunately. Many animals are kept together in this small enclosure. Eventually they die, most notably a rotting fox of some kind, roughly as disturbing as the diver from the previous game. You can't record it to save them.

At night the animals are active. The "fox" appears to either be fictional, a fennec or bat eared fox or alternatively a caracal cat.

At 06:00 the animals rest again.
Cage #18 - Animatronic Stage
Uninteractable cage.

During the daytime crowds come in to see the fish animatronics. At night the crowds and the animatronics go away.

Cage #19 - Dumpster in Alley
Cage #20 - Multimedia Download Screen
Blank screen desciribing the functions of the hardware and software.
Plays a video once a day, inadvertantly livestreamed.
Boar man stuck in a frozen location.
Can be filmed. Once he mentions the tabloid website, can be sent to them to reveal his name.
Can be rescued by learning his location and what's wrong with him, selecting location + rescue and inputting his details.
The newspaper will then reveal his rescue. Also of note is if you send his video to the tabloids, he will be fired and the newspaper will reveal that too.
Once he is rescued, the countdown will continue until the battery is drained.
Cage #21 - Sandy Island
A giant sandy hill on an island. The sand is removed or blown away revealing a structure. For me it was the Eiffel Tower.
Cage #22 - Murder in the Mansion
Cage #23 - Bedroom
Cage #24 - Electronic Billboard
Cage #25 - Restaurant Aquarium.
A lobster is placed inside.
Cage #26 - Blurry Camera
Camera that is digitally corrupted but occasionally clears and shows an alley with graffiti.
Cage #27 - Books
Two-camera, interactable.

This case is about a writer, writing a draft of his horror magnum opus.

He'll change his papers and books for research around while typing, allowing you to snag info in camera one.

Camera two faces his balcony and stairwell of his apartment building, where he converses with a neighbour.

He's writing a screenplay about "The Wallens" and their "diabolical doll". The doll is the evil doll from the first game. The Wallens are a reference to the Warrens, a pair of married hucksters who convinced rubes that they owned a haunted Raggedy Anne doll called Annabelle. This was later made into many terrible movies, the only upside being James Wan got paid well.

At 19:00 his friend waves in his window and they talk.

It's his former producer. He was either the screenwriter or director or both for a teenybopper tv show and left to pursue horror.

Through context clues with the producer we can get her number. We use the name of the show and "script" to get the screenwriters name and talk to the producer about him twice to get his address. I sent him an evil doll replica. He was apparently scared, but not enough. I sent him another. Hopefully this will have the desired effect.
Cage #28 - Dutch Angle Hallway
It's on a space station, planets are seen out the opposite window. After a few days, blood splatters on the camera.
After a few more days, it's cleaned up, however there is no more view of outside. Cannot be sure if it's now in a nebula, crash landed or in some sort of Event Horizon/Warhammer 40k Chaos scenario.

At a later point, it flashes a red light. Eventually it is bathed in red light.

It stops being red and the left hallway has a bloodstain on the wall.

This cage makes me think of the old Source Mod called The Hidden.

Cage #29 - Hand Scanner.
Thought at first this was a radar, similar to a diesel submarine, but it's actually a hand scanner for access to restricted areas of some kind.
Cage #30 - Nuclear Waste Dump Site

@TheStratovarian thanks. Had no idea where to go with that one.
Bez  [作者] 2023 年 5 月 30 日 上午 7:34
@GHOST I don't think that's entirely true. Several times now I have had the identical start of 1. Psychologist, 2. Conveyor 3. Satellite 4. Office.
TheStratovarian 2023 年 5 月 28 日 上午 9:46
For the satilite, you need to do some looking into the cult, and you should get a game popup thats a nod to monkey island. Once you talk to them further, they can give you the access number for it.

Theres 5 different responses that can be said, i think its 3 you need right, if you fail, locks you out for a day.

If it blows up, you get a warning.
GHOST 2023 年 5 月 28 日 上午 4:37
yes def random first 5 each time i have restarted for some reason or another
Bez  [作者] 2023 年 5 月 27 日 下午 6:12
@Spicer I've already solved those ones, just haven't written anything down about them, but thank you anyway.
Bez  [作者] 2023 年 5 月 27 日 下午 6:12
@Spicer I believe to get the name of the psychologist I used hypnosis + psychologist, which reveals her name.

Then to get the celebrities name, use her name plus celebrity.

@Supleted (Spek From Infinity) thanks. I had figured it out, but got there too late because I was juggling everything. Turns out he was true to his word to dismantle his wall.
Bez  [作者] 2023 年 5 月 27 日 下午 2:09
@krikit yeah, I knew that part, but I didn't know specifically how I acquired it, whether it was a drop from something or just a random mail deliverly.
krikit 2023 年 5 月 27 日 下午 1:40
You get infinite improbability by sleeping with the towel item in the room

So for cage #8, if you listen long enough, you can get the clues to "Vent Hole" and "Champion". Using those search terms together will get you "Ham Bones", which will lead you to the name of the owner, as well as a way to contact him. Listen some more and you will get "smart home" for bubble two and "insolent, servile or aggressive" for bubble three. At this point, you can contact the owner and the smart home and ask them questions. Using the term "Smart Home" will let the smart home reveal his serial number, and at this point, you can use "uZinc" and "configurations" in the second bubble to look up a website that will allow you to reconfigure the smart home. Simply input the serial number, Ham bones as security code and either "aggressive" or "servile" to change the outcome of this cage. I have only tried "servile", but I am almost certain "aggressive" will result in a much darker ending.
