Because this confused me, in level 8-7 there are fans among 2 split paths. On the right side, you can walk topright to get to the other side but you cannot get back by walking, you have to jump in the direction (which gives you 16 instead of 8 directions). Remember you have 16 jumping directions, it's not explained very well.
