How to get the Steam overlay to run

By default the overlay does not run with Iron Storm, and the game doesn't clock your gametime. Here's how to get it to work with the game.

Step 1: Find your installation directory

This is a relatively simple process. First make sure you have the game installed. Then go to your installation directory. IE: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Iron Storm

Step 2: Back up IronStorm.exe

Rename Ironstorm.exe to Ironstormbackup.exe

or move it to a different folder/desktop.

Step 3: Replace Game.exe with Ironstorm.exe

Rename Game.exe to Ironstorm.exe

After this, load up the game and the overlay should run.

Troubleshooting

If this doesn't work, rename Ironstorm.exe back to Game.exe, and copy the backed up Ironstorm.exe back into your folder and run it normally. Or verify the integrity of the game cache.

Heres something. You have to rename "Game.exe" into "IronStorm" not "IronStorm.exe" .

I personally didnt realise that you dont have to add ".exe" at the end of the files name.

Additional info: during my first try using this guide, Steam downloaded both .exe files again and replaced my copied ones. Overlay didn't work.
I used your guide again and set the IronStorm.exe to "read only" or however "schreibgeschützt" (german) in english windows might be called. ;)

Ironstorm came out 20 years ago. Its highly unlikely this'll happen.
