Michiru from Brand New Animal joins Rivals of Aether! Looks like she found her own way to play basketball after all!
Use that along with her many transformations to get an edge in battle!

Michiru has many attacks that make use of her beast factor, D-Attack is a bunny foot dropkick, F-Strong is a massive sweeping gorilla arm punch, U-Strong is a elegant mermaid tail back flip, D-Strong and F-Special both use cheetah speed with D-Strong throwing rapid moving punches and F-Special ramming into the opponent for a follow-up, N-Special grabs the opponent with long arms and U-Special is a strong wing flap that sends her flying! Additionally F-Special can bounce slightly off a wall once for each period in the air.

D-Special in Air has Michiru throw a basketball. the basketball can be aimed in a limited range of angles, an arrow pops up showing where it will launch and you can hold the special button down to hold the ball until you let it go. after launched, you can hit the basketball to launch it again, on throw and on hit the ball will have a hitbox which damages other players, but other players can hit your ball and do damage to you aswell.

Using N-Special on a ball will grab the ball and throw a much more powerful shot with the ball which goes in a straight path, you can hold left or right before the throw to switch the direction you're throwing in.

D-Special on Ground will spawn a basketball hoop which Michiru will jump off of. if you hit an enemy into the hoop it will grab them for a short period allowing for a possible follow up, much like the ball another player can hit you into your own hoop and you will also get caught, a hoop will despawn after catching and dropping something.
The hoop also passively catches basketballs that fall into it, if you hit the basketball it will do a Power Shot like N-Special, but depending on the move used to hit it the ball will gain different launch angles. (eg. F-Tilt or N-Air will hit it straight forward, F-Air will hit it diagonally down where it bounces off of the ground, etc. its pretty simple)

If you spawn another hoop or ball the previous one will despawn, if a ball is in a hoop and one despawns then they will go back to their original state.
You can also hit a ball with F-Special or U-Special to negate going into pratfall once for each period in the air.

I know it's unlikely, but could we ever expect to see any reworks or revamps for Michiru? This was the character that inspired me to play rivals, and I consider her one of my mains, but I'd love to see her be able to keep up with newer characters in the workshop.

Okay I really like the character but for me they felt a tiny bit clunky to use so I ended up making them faster and more maneuverable while making them much lighter, and it turned every fight into an interesting experience as most mistakes you could recover from but only for around 4 before any attack would launch you off the map.

i was told to patch the move to solve a problem with trades trapping the opponent in hitpause, but yeah it seems i screwed up the move a bit yeah, ill probably push a hotfix real soon to fix that actually, sorry and thx

Been a huge fan of how this character plays, but I've noticed recently that her N-Special is kinda bugged. Whenever she lands a grab on the opponent, they now got a couple of frames to do pretty much anything, and that includes tech landing and a parry. Hope this gets fixed soon.

I just watched BNA and is super cool, I'm someone made a Rivals mod about Michiru, just by problem, why is her command grab so bad? Like, I try to use it and the target can hit me, roll, or parry so easily, it makes no sense (is a cool, character tho, I love Michiru)
