Currently, Duelyst has 3 generations of Generals. Gen 1 & 2 were drawn by Chris Xia, while gen 3 was drawn by Nicola Saviori. Patch 0.2.5, released on 2 March 2023, introduced gen 1 & 2 portraits redrawn by Nicola Saviori. This was made in order to unify the art style. However, a number of players were dissatisfied with this update for a number of reasons.

You can use the following link to download an archive with the old images. It was uploaded to Google Drive by me.

Right click Duelyst II in the game list or click the cog wheel - "Manage" - "Browse local files". From there, navigate to "resources" - "app" - "src" - "resources".

Replace the files in \generals\ and \dialogue\ folders with the ones you downloaded in the previous step. You can mix and match individual images to keep the ones you prefer.

Images in \generals\ are used for splash art (general_f*) and portraits (general_portrait_image_hex_f*); images in \dialogue\ are used for dialogues (start of match exchange, "my hand is full").

Digit after "f" signifies the faction an image belongs to. Factions follow the same order as in the card collection (Lyonar, Songhai, Vetruvian, Abyssian, Magmar, Vanar).

Right click Duelyst II in the game list or click the cog wheel - "Properties". In the new window, click "Local files" - "Verify integrity of game files..." This will redownload the lates game files.
