Spreadsheet
This has been a long journey, playing, testing and compiling information about the game. I've worked for over 1 year of my spare time on this spreadsheet to pinpoint everything that is missable in the game. I hope you enjoy what you're getting here.

So basically if you're new to the Octopath Traveler franchise, the first game had a few achievements that weren't easy to get because of the lack of quality of life feature in the game like a bestiary. The most notorious in my opinion was the "Strategist" achievement which required you to reveal all enemies weakness in the game. Other notorious one was the "Treasure Hunter" which required you to get every chest in the game, miss one chest somewhere and try to figure out what you're missing in the end game...

In my opinion, those achievements were great and fun to complete for anyone like myself who likes to get everything from a game so it's a real shame those achievements aren't coming back in Octopath Traveler 2. This time around people won't be banging their head into a wall for missing anything, and not able to complete their achievements. However in the spirit of the first game if you'd still like to do a "Perfect Run", here again I'll provide to you a spreadsheet which will detail everything you can get so in the end you revealed all weaknesses, get every treasure chest, hidden items and don't miss any missable.

Follow the link below to access the spreadsheet. Do note, the spreadsheet very likely will receive updates in the future as there are still a few minor things I still need to update or add, however nothing missing in the spreadsheet now should prevent you to play your perfect playthrough.

It is possible I add language support in the future like what I provided for the first game, however this is not a thing yet.

Again if you'd like to use the checkboxes in the sheet. Make yourself a copy of the document, cause people can't all work on the same sheet. To do that access the "File" menu and select "Make a copy" and you'll be able to edit anything you want.

Just as a reminder, if you make an unintended change in the spreadsheet, like dragging a checkbox into another cell, or anything else you do cause of a missclick etc. You can alway undo stuff with the "Undo" button in the ribbon or just use the shortcut "ctrl +z".

Hope this helps!

I have spent enormous time on this spreadsheet, more than a year of my free time. There's still a few things in there missing updates, however at this point I'm not willing to spend anymore significant amount of time on this one. Life is too short and there's so many other titles I wish to try. I will continue to support and fix any mistake found by you if you take the time to write in the comment section. But everything in the spreadsheet marked as "not tested" or something similar don't expect an update anytime soon. However if any of you wish to work and test those thing and wish to update yourself the sheet, i'll be glad to give you edition rights to make this sheet even better. Thanks for understanding.
Missable
Again in Octopath Traveler 2, there's quite a few missable. All of them will be easy to identify using the spreadsheet however there are 2 enemies you could still easily miss if you didn't cover the area yet and already got 5 traveler companion.

Basically, the areas around the starting town of each characters start at level 5 and they increase at level 8 once you have 3 party members and level 11 when you get your 5th character (full group +1). This means you'll get different sets of enemies depending on the area's level.

Unfortunately 2 enemies doesn't appears anymore once the area reach level 11. For those 2, make sure you get their weakness before acquiring your 5th character. Theses 2 enemies appears at level 5 and 8, but disappear forever at level 11.
  • Snow Marmot in the Winterland
  • Desert Ape I in Hinoeuma (if you missed this one but haven't started Hikari chapter 1 yet, this would be your last chance to get his weakness)

All other missable should be obvious if you use the spreadsheet as they'll all be highlighted in red or have a note in the checklist section.

One thing though, if you want to reveal all weaknesses from NPCs, there will be notes in the checklist for a few of them, the ones that appears both during day and night time but you can't challenge nor provoke them. Basically for those NPCs, you can Mug or Coerce them to get their weakness, however if you Steal / Purchase / Entreat all of their items then you won't be able to Mug them and same goes for Scrutinize / Inquire / Bribe with Coerce, meaning you'll lose the ability to get their weaknesses if you're not careful.

Of course all NPCs that appears only at night you should refrain from using Entreat unless you already use Mug on them to get their weakness, but there are so many of them that I won't provide a note for each NPC. Just use your brain when you use your path action so you always get weakness first on NPCs that appear at night only. NPCs that appear during day time you should be able to Challenge / Provoke them as many times as you want without any problem minor the exceptions which will have notes in the spreadsheet when needed.

When you're done with the game you can compare your inventory with the Item section and see if you got everything by comparing the "Max" column with your item count.

@Billy Blaze ah, thanks for clarifying and for the good example to support your case.

Basically i've put a comments on this sheet at line #82, explaining I didn't took the time to test all the skills below this point and there may be a few errors.

If you're willing to test them and update the sheet, I could give you editing rights. Let me know if you wish to do that, otherwise it may take some time before I verify them.

Sorry for the tripple-post.

But you can even see it in the timeline for the next turn.
Even if every char is already to the far left without a monster in-between, the picture of these chars glow blue and bounce up, as if they want to push even further... which they can't since they are already on the leftmost position.

I hope I explained it well. ^^

Basically, if you already start the fight with the buff and use this attack, it still pushes your party forward.
While 'Lunar Lunge' extends the duration of the existing buff, it won't apply a stronger version.
That's why I came to the conclusion that the attack actually pushes the chars forward.

I had the speed buff also in mind... till one tiny thing made me realize that it isn't about the speed buff.
Just fight at night with Throné and you start with the speed buff.
'Lunar Lunge' still pushes you forward.
And since a buff won'T get stronger after applying it multiple times and only last longer, the only explanation is that this attack pushes the party forward.

@Billy Blaze I would expect every skills that gives speed buffs act this way, if that's not the case then I guess I'm wrong! and if you take the time to test it, I'd be happy to know your result. If i'm wrong i'll probably look deeper into it when I have some time (however I just started OT0 yesterday)

@Billy Blaze, not sure I understand what you meant, cause when you raise speed, of course if should help you get your turn faster against enemies, this is why your character gets pushed to the left... Speed is the stat controlling your turn order...

Buffs in Octopath are a bit weird how they function. For example if you buff your physical attack, it doesn't actually raise the stat, it just multiply your damage by 50%, otherwise if it would actually raise the base stat, it would act a lot different like it would be very strong against enemies with high defense stats and less noticeable against weaker enemies, I guess with speed buff it's similar in the way it doesn't really increase the stat itself, but it pushes you 1 turn sooner over the enemies

Here is a thing missing about 'Lunar Lunge' (Polearm Monster Skill with 8 stars).
It doesn't just raise your P.ATK and SPD, it seems to push your party closer to the left on their next turn, similar to Agnea's 'Windy Refrain'.

It won't push them completely to the left if multiple monsters act before them, only one monster at a time.

@TheLazyPlumbers Thanks for letting me know, I just fixed the error.

I noticed that the spreadsheet says that the Merchant NPC at the New Delsta Flats has a regular Wind Soulstone in their inventory, but it's actually a Wind Soulstone (M).

@Mr. Sexy Pants yeah don't bother with those weaknesses each clone she summons delete the previous weaknesses you got earlier.
