DON'T SUBSCRIBE! (AND OTHER "IMPORTANT" INFO)
  • SUBSCRIBING TO THIS WILL ONLY GIVE YOU AN EMPTY FOLDER THAT DOES NOTHING.

  • INSTEAD USE THE DOWNLOAD LINK BELOW TO DOWLOAD THE ACTUAL PRESET.

  • WORTH NOTING THAT THIS WORKSHOP PAGE IS STILL WIP (in other words, it looks horrible and I'm too lazy to improve it right now; also, the formatting command for images betrayed me).

INTRODUCTION THAT NOBODY WILL READ
  • Here it is, after many hours of playtesting various maps and environments and after many hours of mixing and trying different combinations of effects, I proudly present you with the WH3 version of my Reshade Preset. It's worth noting that I basically remade it from the ground up, changing all the previous effects and tweaking them so they are also well usable during gameplay and not just for screenshots. And yeah, you see right, I've used only four effects to achieve the ideal look. But that doesn't mean you have to stick with the look I prepared, because the beauty of Reshade Presets is that you can tweak them to your liking, and I encourage you to do the same if you don't like something about my preset. Also, I'll include additional information about one particular used effect soon.

THINGS YOU'RE GONNA NEED BEFORE INSTALLATION

HOW TO SET UP A RESHADE PRESET
  1. Download the latest Reshade version from the link above and install it (don't forget to enable all of the effect packs during the installation and choose the Direct3D 10+ option).

  2. Download the Preset from the Google Drive link above.

  3. Place the downloaded file into your Total War WARHAMMER III directory (where Warhammer3.exe is located, alongside the already installed Reshade files).

  4. Start the game, press the "HOME" button on your keyboard to open the Reshade Menu, click on DefaultPreset, and choose mine (which is named "Matthew'sPresetWH3").

Here you go, now you can play WARHAMMER III with (hopefully) some nicer graphics.

Do you need to check off EVERY box inside each of the EFFECT packs after downloading reshade? Or just the pack "title" itself? The reason I ask is because when you check the first effect box it then expands and you see all of these other effects inside the pack or not checked.

Ingame I just get "The selected preset uses unknown effects", which effect packs need to be installed?

@Sigmar Rampart I figured it out, you need to disable any IN GAME MSAA anti aliasing. If it still doesn't detect the "depth Buffer" correctly you need to go the 2nd or 3rd tab in the Home settings of Reshade while you're tuning settings, and mess with the options under depth buffer usually itll have your monitors resolutions and such displayed with frame data. Try options there until it works that's the issue is the depth buffer detection. Good luck man I got it working on many other games now too.

Just noticed the terrible grammar in the previous comment, oh well...

Anyway, I'm slowly returning to TW games, and one of the plans is to finally update this Reshade to the newest version.

It will take a bit to update the workshop page though.

May I ask how you got DoF to work? Is it Automatic or Manual? I am struggling attempting to make my own preset. Ty!

I can only recommend reinstall of Reshade, since thinness never happened to me before.

I personally never experienced any FPS impact, not in any game I’ve used Reshade for.

Also WH3 isn’t the most well optimised game lol.

Thank you for the preset! I do wonder about it's FPS impact (if any) but It was a great start for me using reshade, Hope I can learn more and eventually start using it everywhere as well.

in game i see everything black screen......how do i fix this?

Sorry for late reply, but that hasn’t ever happened to me. For issues like these I can only advise full deinstall and reinstall of Reshade.

I think there was a guide on this, though I never tried it myself.

Can’t find it right now, but will reply again if I do.

Also I’m slowing preparing update and revamp of the workshop page for this :)
