That's right, Microsoft/Forgotten Empires/Skybox/Someone has provided us the AOM EX OST featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry series! for free!

Fortunately, Forgotten Empires, Microsoft, Skybox or someone else made the awesome choice to just use .mp3 files for the music instead of an original file format like a lot of developers do.

Simply right click your game in Steam > Browse Local Files > "Sound" folder > Music folder > You're in!


There are five folders inside. These include:

"culture" - Starting tunes for each civilization.

"fight" - Tunes that play when attacking a Town Center.

"interface" - AOM 02' and EX title themes and miscellaneous songs.

"quiet" - The mellow mixes of each track.

"standard" - The music you typically hear when playing Age of Mythology.

This is the same file system and naming conventions as the original release.

Interestingly enough it appears that The Titans menu theme is not present. There's the aforementioned intros, as well as the EX intro renamed to both versions in the Sound folder. Still, no trace of the original "A Matt Named Kittens". Oh no! If only sites like khinsider existed!

Personally, I'm a big fan of tracks such as Flavor Cats and Suture Self so it's neat that the devs unofficially supplied the OST! I hope you enjoy!
