Before I start to explain to you how to fix this bothersome problem, let me notify you that this game does not have a vibration/rumble feature. If you find a way to make the vibration work, please let me know.

The first Assassin's Creed game do not have Support anymore to solve problems of one of the most annoying ones related to our controllers: doesn't recognize it or triggers not working properly. This fix only works with this game, and I do not recommend doing the same with other ones that have similar issues.

Let's start to fix this and enjoy the game!

UPDATE: For those who are trying to play the game with a wireless gamepad: use the controller wired instead of wireless; will solve all your problems.



EaglePatchAC1 is an ASI plugin that fixes a number of issues in Assassin's Creed: Director's Cut Edition (Steam Edition & GOG).

INSTALATION:

Download Ultimate ASI Loader[github.com] and EaglePatchAC1[github.com]

Put dinput8.dll from Ultimate ASI Loader into your Assassin's Creed directory:



In your Assassin's Creed directory create a folder named scripts:



Put EaglePatchAC1.asi and EaglePatchAC1.ini into a newly created scripts folder:



You are done! Enjoy the game! You may want to check EaglePatchAC1.ini for any settings you want to enable or disable.

You need to go to your game library, right-click on Assassin's Creed, and then go to Manage and later Controller Layout:



Inside the menu, select the Gamepad template:



And that's it! Run Assassin's Creed as usual enjoying full support of your gamepad of choice!

Maybe this problem was fixed a long time ago, but after spending a whole day trying to find the way to play Assassin's Creed with an Xbox and PlayStation controller, I must say that the effort and patience were worth my time!
