Latam - "Special" Houses 1

OVERVIEW

Such profoundly unequal societies as those from Latin America just could not fully embrace the marxist and egalitarian ideals and policies. Even in more left-wing administrations in the region, the ruling elites, formed by old plantantion owners, army officials, lawyers, engineers and state burocrats, managed to create legal exceptions or privileges that distanced themselves from the usual public services that were offered to the general populace.

This set of "special houses" represent this "favoritism" trend that was and still is so common in the region. In short, those are the public houses that were built specifically for the social segments that were "more equal" than the other ones - the military, party officials, loyal experts workers and government bureaucrats.

When designing those types of houses, public engineers and architects would usually make some 4-6 models for each neighborhood to help making them feel more unique for each household - this is present here. Those houses also offer more privacy than any other social housing modules and most of the time they are constructed in gated comunities.

GAMEPLAY

Those houses are very low-density - 3 workers for each home. They are also very expensive regarding their cost per worker. Therefore those surely are not meant to be the standard housing for your workers.

So, they have mainly two functions: i) house your experts (doctors, uni teachers, special agents, etc), as the high housing quality will help keeping those essential worker's happiness and loyalty high; ii) roleplay.

You will find 6 houses in total: 3 with one floor; 3 with two floors, for an extra boost in housing quality.

Of course this houses in real-life usually have a bigger yard, but they have been reduced in size for gameplay reasons.

FINAL NOTES

While this type of single-family houses for "favorites" are not on par with the general gameplay philosophy of the game, those are extremely realistic in the region.
