Personal headcanon aiming to compliment the lackluster flavour text for every weapon in-game. Because I'm an insomniac and need a way to keep myself sane.

I work on this whenever I feel like it.

Crovel Survival Tool
Method: Slashing, Bludgeoning
Manufacturer: GearUp

It slices, it dices and does it in thrices. At first glance the Crovel could be mistaken for an ordinary shovel (with a particularly troublesome handle to boot) but make no mistake: this is the ultimate gift for the survival aficionado who wants everything in one lightweight package; a gift well spent in the current ongoing apocalypse where the most valuable asset is a very angry Mercenary with an equally angry-looking weapon.

The blade sports rigid, serrated teeth on both sides that rival the bite of most conventional lumber saws -- perfect for taking a large branch off a trunk... or tearing the bone and ligament off some jumped-up monster with a blade the size of a helicopter's tail rotor. Conveniently, the shaft of the Crovel is made of chromoly steel, a type of alloy steel that'll have no qualms about protecting the user from said blade, spikes, chains, blades or other dismembering apparatus.

But wait, there's more! The Crovel Survival Tool slashes quite well, but bashes even better! On the other end of the tool is a handle with a unique form factor: what it sacrifices in ergonomics, it makes up for in utility as the handle can be utilized as a surprisingly effective hammerhead. We don't have to tell you what to do with a Zed and a hammer. If all you have is a Crovel, then everything looks like tender meat.

Despite being produced in limited numbers by its original manufacturer, Horzine Biotech capitalized on this intuitive design by scanning them and distributing more printed copies to the hands of eager Berserkers everywhere. After all, the Crovel is always happy to help them dig graves for the bodies they've made.

AR-15 Varmint Rifle
Capacity: 20, 9x19mm
Manufacturer: Colt's Manufacturing Company, LLC

The AR-15 Varmint Rifle (also known as the Colt 9mm SMG) was a mainstay for many plinking hobbyists and crop farmers due to its versatility and ergonomic design. The rifle sports a lightweight receiver and picatinny rails for aftermarket parts; a well-maintained Varmint Rifle can land a bullet between the eyes of a coyote at sixty meters with ease. The trade-off for this accuracy is -- obviously -- the stopping power of the cartridge. When ravenous Zeds were unleashed throughout the world many civilians fought back with firearms such as these to mixed success.

This particular rifle was presumably owned by one of these civilians; historical data shows that it was scanned during the first week of the Outbreak. It is customized with polymer rail covers and an angled grip for superior recoil-control and shines as a reliable, controllable weapon that punches through the flesh of a Gorefast as well as it does to the flesh of a "varmint".

Due to its ease of construction and comparatively cheap printing costs, the AR-15 Varmint Rifle is standard-issue for every Commando on the field. Just be sure not to shoot anything angrier than a Husk with this weapon.

SA80 L85A2 Bullpup
Capacity: 30, 5.56x45mm
Manufacturer: Royal Ordnance

Just like how you can't have biscuits without tea, you can't have a Royal Guard without an SA80 Bullpup rifle. These prestigious rifles have been a staple of Britian for decades. Now they've been repurposed as a staple of human resistances across the Queen's empire.

Many of these rifles were used to great effect during the Outbreak; 5.56x45mm munitions were one of the most commonly requested supplies throughout the entire world, let alone Britian's own Army. It's not known how long the supply chain held through during the Outbreak but what is known is that the Army could not withstand the combined forces of the Zeds. Like everything else, they eventually crumbled under the vast ocean of bodies, blades and bile.

This particular rifle came equipped with an EOTech holographic sight in contrast to the standard-issue SUSAT telescopic sight that SA80 rifles come with, no doubt replaced by a particularly resourceful soldier to better suit the close-quarters-combat situations that most Zed outbreaks took place in. As it was taken from a Army-owned military installation, the rifle was in relatively good condition.

Unfortunately, the rifle was scanned without an accompanying magazine (most armouries were raided for their ammunition rather than their arms) -- fortunately, magazines for a STANAG-abiding rifle were not in short supply; Horzine Biotech had more than the means necessary to produce them. Eventually the SA80's blueprint file was amended to include an aftermarket polymer Magpul EMAG magazine for ease-of-use to any aspiring Commandos who serve for Queen and Country.
