Thanks for this guide, it hadn't occurred to me that you could just switch back to the classic UI. Honestly, it should be an option in the menu. I really don't like the new UI, it looks "cheap" and things are unnecessarily spread out across various tabs etc. Also, in the advanced graphics options menu, the classic Source interface actually lets you see what all the options are (whether they go to "High" or "Very high", for example) instead of making you scroll through each one to see how far they go. When using the default UI, I also got multiple crashes when trying to change video settings, but I don't know if switching back to the old interface actually helps or if I just got unlucky.

Other people have different game taste dumbass.
