it resets the entire floor or boss fight and the floor will have the exact same layout so you now know what rooms to avoid
Lost at a slot machine? ALT F4!
Mini-boss take all your elixirs to beat? ALT F4!
New enemy or trap crushing you? ALT F4!
Attack in the wrong direction for the 11th time? ALT F4!

Does this work? I'm tired of putting 5 8 hours and then getting killed by a boss. It's not right that it takes you all the way back to the beginning. But I guess that's a roguelike
