"Heavy unarmed swings have a higher chance to daze enemies than a normal swing. Opening up the fight with a quick heavy swing(shift + L.mouse) will be the most efficient way to start your combo meter.

Just know that heavy attacks are relatively slower than your average attacks, so it's better to use them when you have enough distance from your enemies. Also, it's much better to use them against single targets rather than multiple."
