One of the Classiest versions of PAYDAY 2

Plug'n'Play version - don't need to setting up tons of crap before the launch. All you need to do is extract the archive wherever you want and launch **payday2_win32_release.exe** executable.
Independent - you don't need a base game to be installed to play this build.
Using completely separate save file that prevent corruption of your modern version progress.
The best performance - my personal statistic is 70-90 FPS in vanilla, comparing U37.1 always mostly at 135 FPS even in Big Bank and Hotline Miami with drops down to 110 FPS.
Lightest build - loading is at the lightning speed.

Comparison between Classic and Modern gameplay
Don't even try to play it solo. Older versions is balanced for the cooperative gameplay only. Bring at least 1 person to play in to your lobby.


Note: first footage was taken from U52.3 and second from 2019, but both of them shows the same gameplay as U37.1 and current version.
Installation
Step 1 - Download
Download the archive: 17.3GB
Download the archive: 12.5GB
Download the archive: 7.77GB

Step 2 - Install
  • Extract the archive wherever you want. (even on your Desktop)

Step 3 - PLAY!
  • (Optional) Add payday2_win32_release.exe to the Steam as Non-Steam game
  • Run the file payday2_win32_release.exe
About the Repack
This is clean build with steam_appid.txt that allows you to play this update separately from vanilla and integrated BLT by steam-test1 made for all older versions. So you can put most of the simple mods that modworkshop can offer to you.

  • You don't need a base game to be installed. steam_appid.txt makes able to launch this version on Steam as PAYDAY 2 in any directories even if you don't have PAYDAY 2 installed in your library.
  • The patch integrated in to the BLTs base that fixes the Press Any Key stuck and changes the save file from save098.sav to save037.sav preventing the game corrupting your vanilla progress.

  • Added Update 76 Build. (You can check game content updates here[docs.google.com].)
  • Added InGame Achievements mod that allow you to unlock achievements even if you unlocked them in Steam.
  • Added Loadout profiles for game versions pre-u107 mod. So you can change equipment like you do in modern version.

    Note: all mods that were included in the archive mostly a Quality of Life mods, but some of them are changing gameplay at the point of old gameplay. If you don't want to use it, you can just simply remove them from the mods folder like you do with regular mods. But DO NOT remove SuperBLT-Classic-Updates-Support-main, without it you can face an error or crashes when you launch the build.

Update 37.1 Build

  • IPHLPAPI.dll replaced by WSOCK32.dll specially adapted for this version of the game. With it, it is possible to use supermods that can change game resources such as models, textures, xml settings, and etc.
  • Added Loadout profiles for game versions pre-u107[modworkshop.net] to the mod list.
  • All mods have been updated to the latest versions.

  • The archive now includes SuperBLT instead of the regular BLT. (Also included is IPHLPAPI.dll, provided by test1, which works on pre-U78 versions of the game and SuperBLT-Classic-Updates-Support)
  • Added Fixmod-U37.1 provided by RedFlame. (This fix-mod also include desync resolver, so regular one was removed from archive)
  • Added Quickplay Lite mod. You'll be able to see who is playing without entering the Crime.NET. A convenient mod to increase the chances that someone will join you if you are hosting the lobby.

So happy this exists, i would love U37.1 to get some more mods added in the future so it can be the ultimate way to experience classic Payday 2. Something like this is a godsend

For anyone having 0xc0000142 error when launching PAYDAY 2 (u37.1) you need to download the Visual C++ 2015-2022 runtime version 14.38.33135.0 that can be found on github from zzappvn's repo

payday 2 u37.1 won't let me launch. Anyway to fix it?
It says application was unable to start correctly.

Jacob, what was the reason to add 109.1 update? Imo all that chivalry thing wasn’t already “classy” enough to even put it here. Why’s there’s no 52.3 which’s legitimately a bigger upgrade to 37.1 with Loadouts, Perkdecks and some new good heists? 109.1 just doesnt make sense.
