After Constructing the Air Exchange, subjugation of the vortigaunts, the Combine further weaponized the elements by creating vast lighting storms. As a result of this, entities began emerging in forms of Particle Storms around the wastes.

Honestly if you are a warhammer 40k fan as well as a necron fan, you might dig it.
