What to do
Doom 3 BethesdaNet Edition, as well as BFG Edition sometimes, can be wonky in regards to save files.

Have you encountered this error?
"Failed saving settings to Profile. Please make sure storage devices are properly connected and have sufficient storage available.", followed by "There was an error saving your game." when starting a new game.

It could be because of the Saved Games or your User folder having non-English symbols. There are several tips that might fix this problem, some might work, some might not.

1. Right click on the Saved Games folder, select "Properties", select the Location tab, change the location to a path that has ONLY English characters, select Move and then OK.

2. Run the game as Administrator.

3. (BFG EDITION ONLY) Select DOOM 3 BFG Edition in the Steam library, right-click, and select Properties. In the General tab, select Launch Options and enter <+set com_allowconsole 1>. Pressing the tilde key [~] in-game will now open the console. Enter <set save_path "your_folder_here"> and the save path should change.

However, it might be simpler to just enter <+set save_path "your_folder_here"> in the Properties...

4. If all else fails: delete the savegame file in "Saved Games\id Software\DOOM 3\base"
This might especially work for those who, at first, had Doom 3 installed from Bethesda Launcher prior to Steam migration.

Fun fact: What I found weird is that after getting 25000 points in Super Turbo Turkey Puncher 3, you get the e-mail, but there's no notification. I ended up having 45000 when I got sick of it. It seems that further e-mail notifications on this level get broken too.
