Working treadmills revisited with more thought to IRL time and a multiplayer ecosystem, less suffering. Based on F_C4RICA's version here:

I sought permission but they seem inactive, I will change this into a patch mod requiring the original if they come back and are upset at me creating a standalone mod.

Features vs. Original
  • Gives a level for every use (configurable whether it gives levels for Fitness, Strength, and Sprinting).
  • Exercise with gear on, your choice whether to do it or not.
  • Doesn't force you to drop heavy items, but if you're too overburdened it won't let you use the treadmill - no more surprise dropping of items!
  • 33% quieter.
  • Removed undocumented check to make sure inventory was half of maximum to give strength XP.
  • Configurable amount of time it takes to run on the treadmill, default is half of the original mod.
  • Made the running and stop running sounds have the same range (for some reason you could hear it power down from slightly further away).

Planned Features
  • Make the treadmill smaller, it's a bit uh.. large. :)
  • Option to give exercise fatigue or not, original mod advertised this but has no such feature.
  • Option to use an XP-granting instead of level-granting mode with configuration options.

@Scruffy That's the point, it's balanced for my server's ecosystem. If you want slow gains then use the original mod which I linked in the description.

Just tried using this... players were getting +1 level in strength, fitness, spinrting with a few mins on treadmill. Seems horrificaly unbalanced, way to easy to level. couldn't see an option to balance this.

It seems that there is no way to change the temperature directly. I have tried it, but it is not effective. Maybe I can change the body heat production

@Pyro Yes, I know how to fix that but it is not a priority since lots of other mods also require them disabled..

@Tahvohck When I have time I will add more options, but I have a long list of things to make and do so I promise no ETA. Maybe take a look at the original mod, though, since it gives XP rather than levels, it's a lot more grindy, which it sounds like what you want.

@Hazy Lunar: Yeah type 15 is to control cheating to get XP/skill levels, and needs to be off for this to not boot people. This is the same with most mods that grant XP for irregular things like book XP and the original treadmill mod. I *might* be able to get around that if I have the client use server commands to issue the XP but I'm not sure it's worth the effort.
